I'm not sure exactly where I stand. Am I going to have a coronary soon or not?

Total cholesterol 183 mg/dl

Triglycerides 204

LDL cholesterol 110

HDL Chol. 32

This is three months since my last cycle. Am I okay?

Total cholesterol 183 mg/dl--Looks OK.

Triglycerides 204--Very elevated; you need to get this down with low carb dieting.

LDL cholesterol 110

HDL Chol. 32

Your LDL:HDL ratio is 3.44; it should be less than 3. Low carb dieting and cardio for 4-6 weeks should clean this up. What is your BF%?

This is a good example why total cholesterol only doesn't help our understanding of what's really going on with our cardiovascular systems. You're total is under 200 and most people would be elated about that. Your HDL is too low and your LDL is too high. That's why your ratio, as DrJMW has pointed out to you, is poor. Start taking EFA's, Flax Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, etc., these will help.

His ratio is average. He is just fine in that regard. Look at the relevant chapter in your Merck Manual, Doc, especially the big red box entitled Levels of Blood Fats on the internet version: "Ideal range less than 3.5 "

http://www.merck.com/pubs/mmanual_home/sec12/139.htm

What is high is the blood triglyceride level, although not frighteningly so. However, some recent research as shown that that is a poor predictor of atherosclerotic disease anyway:

" These data suggest that, in men, measurement of serum triglyceride levels does not provide clinically meaningful information about CHD risk beyond that obtainable by measurement of serum cholesterol subfractions alone"

I'm in better shape than I was a year ago. I had a total of 223 chol. and triglycerides were in the 500's

That's great. You really managed to improve your lipid profile. Were you actively trying to lower cholesterol and triglycerides, or did it just happen?

Im gonna stick with the Doctor on this one. Your values are NOT fine, and they need work. Your previous values are horrid, but you have gotten them down, so congrats on that. Still, they could use improvement. Flax oils are good, fish oils are better. If you dont want to eat fatty fish ED (9 oz or so) then shove down 15 grams of fish oil you can buy in bulk from sams club, cheap, ED.
