I have a major problem with my diet... it's called

weekends.

I'm pretty good during the week but on the weekends my diet goes to s**t.
I feel lost and in need for help.

Currently I am not on an offical diet, meaning I haven't mapped anything out. I pretty much know where I want to go and have ordered BF scales to start a diet Pincota(spelling) has me very interested in but until they get here(tues, wed) I have just been working out and trying to eat good foods.

I've lost 8 lbs in almost 3 weeks.
I hate the way I cut loose on the weekends..

Need inspirational advice, critisism or hints and ideas.

Yes, I have been reading a lot of his post.. Pintoca has really done a good job losing his weight...

It's a life change.. I'm trying to make it.. it's soooo hard after all of these years.
I really really want to lose this weight and I am willing to work for it.

But sometimes I just feel out of control

I can't deny it's nice to read a post and see your name mentioned in a positive way, but what I have done is really nothing special: It is just a matter of:

1. Researching before you act, in order to minimize loss of time and maximize results
2. Keeping to your objectives. When you cheat, you are only cheating on yourself (believe me, nobody else cares beside you, if you achieve your objectives or not, everybody else is busy achieving them).
3. Once people start to notice your achievements, there is no turning back: It will get you addicted to being better all the time!!!

Read this thread about motivation, it is a good one.

Take a picture of yourself and put it on the fridge. Before you eat anything ask yourself, "Is this going to help me reach my goal"?

I have the same problem, my diet is perfect during the week but when saterday hits, OH MY GOD, Pigging out time, not cool and by the end of the say i feel like shit and i say what the hell did i do

OK -- thinking time....

Do you feel deprived during the week? When you binge -- are you truly hungry or do you want an "off limits" food & just can't stop eating it??

If you want to make a life-style change, that's great!! Baby steps. Start by eliminating 1 food -- like chips. Once you get to the point where you no longer desire them or care about them, eliminate something else. Or find a healthy replacement for it. Like homemade baked tortilla chips with no sugar salsa.

Check out my "Recipe Thread!" in the Women's Fitness Forum for dishes, etc that will satisfy your taste buds. There is no reason why healthy food has to taste bad!!

it's quite simple actually........to start off, allow your self 2 cheat meals per week. Make one in the middle, say Wed., and go order a small pizza, or have some ice cream after dinner, etc. Next one have on Sunday. Maybe go out to eat or have a nice meal with the folks.....pasta, burgers, your choice.......that should keep you sane and on target knowing you have that meal to look forward to, then reward yourself.......eventually, knock it down to 1 a week...then 2 every three weeks, etc....if you eat 6 meals a day, 40 out of 42 clean meals will do you quite nicely..also, incorporate some daily cardio........as your physique changes, you will not want to jeopordize it with junk.........i had the exact opposite occur.......I got so ripped, so lean, that i COULDN'T/can't put on weight because I cant stray from my diet in ffear of losing my abs........I have a hard time eating 7oz of chicken insead of 6......you get my point? My weight gain goals are failing........

Jkurz you are insane man..you can preach the right shit most of the time, I am confident you know how to diet, but why the disorder man? I am pretty new and I listen to what most ppl say here, but your wants and needs are so contradictory I can't stand it..like, I want to help you or something. But, I will say, you have some crazy ass amazing discipline...

it's not the chips or the chocolate or any of that, it's eating out alot, huge breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausages pancakes), lunch (harveys, or resturant)
dinner (i eat alot of pita bread at dinner) and at night mabye a beer, but the good thing is, any meal i eat has protein, is that bad or what!!! :worried:

But why are you eating alot?? Are you eating a lot cuz you are "out" & with friends, so don't realize how much you are eating?? Or do you feel that you've been good all week & deserve a treat??

I've found that living a healthy lifestyle is a lifestyle -- it's all the time & not just a temporary thing so I can fit into my prom dress, etc..... Yes, there will be slip ups or times when you don't eat healthy, sure.

I've found that eating right is a mental thing most of all. Like what type of eater am I??? I like to eat -- a lot & often. By eating healthy foods, I can do that with minimal impact & lower calories. Plus I've evolved to this lifestyle over a number of years. I'm still evolving.

If going out to eat @ restaurants are a trigger for you -- then you may need to change your form of socializing for awhile, till you can make the right choices regardless of where you are.

I used to be a binge eater. (And this past Easter it hit me again, damn those Cadbury's eggs) It tore me up inside, so I went to a psychiatrist for a month or two and ,now save for a natural response to sweets during the holidays, Im cured. It was embarrassing (at least for me) to talk about the disorder, but it helped in the end.
Also, I found it helpful to workout on Saturday and Sunday so I can't allow myself to eat too much or I feel like shit.

Well, until you can learn to control yourself, you may have to isolate yourself from the environment for a while.....or suggest to your friends to do something else so you won't be tempted....

How old are they?? Guys, I assume........

What's deceiving about "skinny" people is that they are NOT necessarily healthy. Just because you are skinny -- it doesn't mean your bf% is at a healthy level. For a skinny guy, a bf% of 18% (Just look at Morgan Spurlock form the movie "Supersize Me" as an example) can be just as unhealthy or equivalent to someone who's larger with a bf% of 30%. It's relative to a person's size. They could even have higher bf%'s......

It WILL catch up to them eventually. So, they may not care now -- but they will later.

In the meantime -- try & make some new friends who will support YOU & your healthy lifestyle or suggest other activities with the same friends that don't involve sitting on their ass eating & drinking. Now, these same friends may not understand you & resist your new lifestyle -- which is sad. But you know what you want & what you need to do. Surround yourself with positive support and the gains will come to you.

Exactly!!

Your body shape & bone structure is determined by genetics. You can't get around that. BUT -- you can be healthy, tight & firm -- and even if you are techically LARGER that those tiny peeps -- you'll be 10 times healthier and isn't that what's most important??
