And please, no "your facvorite gun recomendations. Im deciding strictly between these three. Each has its advantages. The Smith is very nice and affordable, and it has the best safety, the Kimber is the nicest, the glock is the absolute best value and can be had with high cap mags. Oh yeah, the smith comes with two Wilson magazines, widely considered the best mags, which Id prolly have to buy if I get the Kimber. Decisions, decisions...

Kimber:

Glock:

Smith:

I had the Glock, that's an old model(no slide rail under the barrel), very accurate, didn't realize you could buy hi cap mags for it, and I paid $509 for it. Those exact three guns though I would go with the Glock-maybe the Wilsont, H&K is my favorite lol.

The thing thats giving me a hard time is the Smith. It is built with the best custom components, top of the line trigger, springs, mag, safety...all for 700 bucks.

Sorry I meant maybe the Kimber pistol, that Smith ain't bad comes down to what you intend to use it as.

hey man, ever bought a gun from one of these auctions before? thinking about getting a SAR Ak47 for $300. But most want just $order cashiers check....

Ive never bought one yet. Just check their background and feedback before bidding. Most will take ccards but charge an extra 2-3 percent for them.

First of all good choice with the .45. What will you be using it for? How "good" are you with guns?

I'm not a big fan of Smith's auto's at all. If you are worried about the safety then go with the Glock. I'm interested to know why tou think the smith has the best safety over the glock. The 1911 style Kimber is my choice I own 3 of them. Wilson mags are the best mags made, but I have never had a problem with the stock Kimber ones. If you are a "gun nut" and go the the range often go with the Kimber. I own a Glock .45C and I can out shoot it all day with my Kimber, even my 3". Just depends what your are using it for, CCW, home defence, plinking, gunbroker is a good place to buy guns if you have a good FFl to go through. YOu can find then in your area on teh web. I found one that charges me $5 for the transfer so I get most of my guns off ar15.com or gunbroker. Stay away from SW autos, junk. It's between a glock or kimber. and there is about a $500 difference.

It will be my one all around handgun. Nightstand, carry, range, pistol whipping, that kind of thing. Oh, and Im very good with guns.

THe kimber alos requires more maintance. It needs to be oiled reguraly. The glock you can leave on in your nightstand for a year and it will still fire. If you are good with guns get the Kimber. If you are going to carry CCW ger the Kimber Elite CDP. Here is a pic of my girl with her new Kimber. Yes she can clean it and almos tout shoot me.

Notice the heat melted edges and night sites for CCW. This is the smallest one they make. they have a new one out alos. Go to their website. Hers is the Ultra CDP Elite 2

If you are even considering carring it CCW the kimber is the best for sure. I have both the small glock and the full size .45's and they don't even compare to my kimbers for CCW

I said Kimber, but I'm hugely biased towards 1911s.

You can get the plastic Glock if you want.

1911's aremy fav. It's like you are holding a piece of history, plus I can work on them like no other. I have several series 70's and a few Wilsons. I love them.

I always think Colt when I hear .45. Sorry.

I would not buy a gun that requires regullar maintenance. I have like 300 things that require maintenance. I'd rather maintain an erection.

Ahh, the lovely 70 series. I cant fault you at all for that choice.

Friend of mine wants to get one of the newer Colts (1991 or whatever they called them, 80 series), I'm trying to talk him out of it though.

Although I'd trade a kidney for one in Ultimate Stainless, I guess its my inner pimp coming out.

If you truly want a concealed gun, do not go with a 1911 model.
Unless you're concealing in a fanny pack.

An inside the pants paddle holster or any waist holster for that matter will leave a nice 3 inches of grip hanging over the belt.

For concealment, I carry a G26. You defininately want a small form factor gun for actual concealment.

If you only conceal the gun to avoid getting hassled and questioned, then stick with whatever gun you are most accurate with.

Ahh yes.. Old Slabsides..
The only Negative I can agree with on the 1911 is that it's Not the best for Lightweight Weight/Carry/Concealment.

But, IMO It's the Corvette of .45 handguns.
Not the best looking, or Most Accurate or Lightest/Fastest but a great all around gun.

But you can practically drop them off a bldg and run down and pick it up and it will still fire and hit target.

Custom parts galore

Any Gunsmith is cert and able to tweek or work on it anywhere in the world.

Will draw smooth with the sights and the Grip safetys are thoughtless.

Get the biggest fucking gun you can buy and shoot the shit out of someone. Oh God, yeah. Shoot some kids too since children never do anything for anyone anyways. Shoot them in the genitals and watch them bleed to death slowly. Fuck yeah, I'm rubbing myself I'm so excited.

Can't go wrong with a smith

I hate glocks....ugly fucking space guns

I'd go to a gunstore and play with all these models first.

The double stack Beretta has grips way to big for my hands (hurts concealment too if you care about that).

IMHO, go with the Kimber. My Brother carried a nice smith 4586 DAO for a while as a trooper, & I liked it too. My army boss is a retired cop who carried a glock for many years & wouldn't carry anything else (except here where we have to carry Beretta 9mms), I'm an old school 1911 guy, & my fav carry gun at home is my stainless Commander. My nephew carries a compact kimber at work, & of course loves it, & so do I. Nothing feels as good in my hand as a 1911, but that's just me.

OUBETA-We oughta go shootin/liftin' when I get outa this desert. Live in MWC back home. Thats a lot of teasing, putting your gals pic up there like that, & ooh that kimber is sweet!

SGM Estorga

I'm glad to see there are some true gun lovers here. The 1911 is not respected like it should be by my generation. It's usually older guys who fancy it. The 1911 is one of the best guns ever, no matter what make or series. I love them and own about 14 of them.

I don’t like cock and lock so I have to vote for the glock. I have a glock 30 and it’s fine… Same thing just a little shorter. Little recoil.

Very very different guns.

But yeah, same size round :)

Well I went and got the smith 1911. It was the best gun for the money. But I will get the Kimber down the road. But the Smith was just so loaded, so tight and rock solid, I couldnt help myself. Im picking it up on Thursday, since I dont have a concealed permit I have to "cool off" for three days...oh well, I'm pretty sure Ill still be hot by then!

BTW how does that site work anabolicmd? Where do they ship the weapon to? An person with a FFL -you-or maybe a gunshop? How do they do the paperwork? I saw they had Glock 21 Hi-cap mags and H&K .45 Hi cap ones also and plan on getting those and a .45 with them in the fall.

Kimbers metal looks like a nestle crunch bar on the inside.

DAO .45 doesnt appeal to me.

I like the Smith 1911 from what Ive seen.

Thanks, all the local gun shops were run out of town and now you must leave the city to find any, and even then they aren't that good on their prices.

They ship it to ONLY to FFL dealer that you pick. Then you go to FFL dealer and they do a background check, when everything is clear you get your gun. Simple.

Yeah, they ship mostly to ffl or a gunshop. The gunshop will charge you around 25. Oh btw, I got mine locally, only paid about 25$ more and I got to see the gun personally.

Kimber. I recently purchased a Kimber TLE II and its a very accurate gun. The Glock on your picture is a second generation and lack the finger grooves. S&W in .45ACP ? Nahhh......

Has anyone seen the new Kimber Concealed Carry gun? It's looks like ass, but I got to shoot a demo and it's great for 1911 CCW. Best there is for deep cover 1911 right now for sure. I'll get mine hopefully next week.
