Help me come up with the ultimate cholesterol stack

psychedout

New member
I was thinking something like this for starters:

25mg of Nolvadex ED
5 grams of Flax Oil
5 grams of Fish Oil

Not sure what else to add? How about some help. :)

Well, I thought I had a good cholesterol stack, but my test from last week came back at 299 total, so thats a problem.

I was taking:
Policosanol 40mg/ED at night
Guggulsterones 240 mg/ED
In addition to garlic, r-ALA, flax oil (i am switching to fish oil).

I am going to add a fiber supplement and more vitamin e too, though I am already supplementing it, but I guess I need more.

Policosanol -- where can you buy this stuff? I ran a search and some product called Cholestin kept coming up, but its very expensive.

Policosanol you can get it online at kilosports or locally at vitamin world or vitamin shoppe. GNC doesnt sell it yet, though I hear they will within a month or 2.

POLICOSANOL is a blend of long-chain alcohols (plant waxes) including 50% octacosanol (see *516) that is derived from sugar cane. Studies in humans and animals demonstrate that policosanol lowers LDL cholesterol & triglycerides while raising HDL much more than placebos, even more than statin drugs! Recommended dose varies from 10-20mg per day. 20mg also inhibited blood clotting as effectively as 100mg aspirin and lowered blood pressure somewhat. Our policosanol comes diluted in *725 phytosterol complex. Use for about 3 months before retesting blood lipids. Elsewhere, a month’s supply at 20mg/day may cost over $18. See *719.5 Cholesterol Support. 2 month @20mg/day, phytosterol base, 30 gm $6.50 Code 776.1

Why not use a statin if cholesterol is an issue? Red Yeast Rice is a statin and very similar to one of the fda approved meds, but why not go for the real stuff?

There might be a reason to stay away from statins. I would just like to hear it. I'm talking about Lipitor and Zocor, BTW. Some scientists think that the statins are going to be the aspirin of the 21st century; very benign, plenty of uses.

Does anyone have an opinion about the use of these drugs?

Red yeast rice is hepa-toxic to liver and does nothing while on AAS!

Take Policosanol at 20mg at night time before sleep while on AAS. It will also help with triglycerides.

There ARE side effects to statin drugs, although they are rare. I got deep-muscle pains (myalgias) in my side that were so severe I couldn't stand up straight. They started about 3 months after I begin Lipitor, so I thought my liver was failing, didn't connect it to the drug. :-) My doctor immediately took my off it, but it took another 3 months for the pains to go away. Apparently these myalgias are also a sign of possible liver damage, iirc.

Niacin is the nuts for me, it really makes a big difference in raising my good cholesterol (59 pre-cycle). The only things that keep my ldls down are cardio and oatmeal.
I also do policosonal and flax seed oil. If I do nothing at all, my cholesterol hits 340-360 in no time.
