help for 62 year old

unclep

New member
dad is 62 and is experiencing stamina, strength, and pchyscological problems.

HGH and/or Some Gear might help?

karma for suggestions?

thanks

p

Step one: Blood test.

Step Two. HRT.

Step Three. Mild natural anti e's such as Chysin and Calcium D Glucerate.

And step Four: A good noortropic like Nuerogenix or Liporexin from the AF store.

Insurance

My old insurance was just the opposite. Paid for Gel's and patches, but no injectables. New insurance pays for either.

I'm 38 and currently on Testim and loving the results. My levels are up from 168 to 461 in 3 weeks. Strength, Libido, Mood are all elevated.

Have him check it out

HRT - Hormone Replacement Therapy. Have him go to the doctor and get a Serum Testosterone & Free Testosterone blood test done. If likely has some low testosterone. If he does, his physician should prescibe him some low maintenance dose of Testosterone, generally 100mg per week or 200mg per every other week. I recommend every week as the roller coaster in his levels are not so drastic in change. AndroGel may be an option as well, but many insurance companies do not pay for the gel.

He should also get a PSA (for prostate), TSH (thyroid), CBC, and Lipid Panel/Hepatic Profile done as well. This is all done through a blood test.

PS: Karma is always welcome here.

It's funny. I envision a 62 year old as real old guy, ready for the grave. Then I realize it's only 13 years away. Doh!

If he is only on replacement therapy, with normal test levels, why would he need anti-e's of any kind? Without a blood test with normal levels of T, wouldn't he have normal levels of E as well? further reducing E would be an invitation to osteopenia and heart disease. Of course, after having the appropriate blood tests and determining that he had high levels of e, an anti-e would be justified.

Have him talk to an open minded doctor. Don't play home doctor with a 62 year old mans health. Once all his levels are tested, then you can go from there. If his test is indeed low, then have him request test replacement, and possibly hgh. Thats where the open minded doctor comes into play. Theres so many close minded ones, that even if you do test low, they won't give it to you. :(

Older men tend to have elevated e and SHBG.

There is a bunch of Anti-aging clinics on the web. They will set
you up for the proper bloodwork. Not all insurance will pay for HRT. There is also anti-aging doctors in your own neibhorhood probably. powermedica.com looked ok

maybe he can afford HRT himself? Go see a doc then get the proper blood work done first. Then come back and see us :)

Step one - doctor.

Some are better than others. Some suck, and, contrary to our American fix me now mindset, you might have to shop around to find one that works well with you.

Do your homework and you will find one that can help your dad dramatically improve his quality of life while avoiding or working through some of the pitfalls associated with any given appropriate therapy.

A few days ago I brought my little boy to our family doctor for check up. I asked our doctor if he new any doctors that were fimiliar with HRT. His eyes lit up and he went into detail as to how important it is for both men and women to recieve HRT when required to improve health and quality of life.

He said that he would be glad to work with me and wrote out the lab request. He told me not to take any herbal preps or prohormones that claim to effect testosterone because it may affect my test levels. He said dose is based on the lab work, he will prescribe even if I have low normal test. He also said that androgel is not as effective as injections, not that we don't all know that. My insurance will cover 100% of all cost.

An interesting note is that he said that he prescribes test to more women than men although the ladies get a much lower dose.

He said that I need to get the first injection from his nurse to make sure that I can give myself the injections. I didn't tell the doctor that I've probably done about 5000 in my lifetime.

SWEET deal bro!

Actually no herbs will raise total T but you may want to stay away from avena and muara puama because they will raise your free T though I'm not sure if he will even test for that. Most blood tests just go for overall levels.

One thing I disagree with: I think Androgel is very effective, it's just that the 350 mgs weekly winds up being closer to 100 mgs and as with the injections, not all of it is usable. It's also four times as expensive as the injectable and a pain in the ass to use. (Timing your showers. Can't use suntan lotion, etc, etc )

You can also go back for your script "a few days" early" each time. By the end of the year you can have an extra cycle stored up. :)

A very simple way is to start over-reaching in your training. That is, begin a regime of such overload that, if continued, would lead to overtraining.

There are other methods that may be test specific. Do you know what test will be used? Some simply rely on hormone ratios to tell you if one or another is "low." Others actually attempt to measure hormone concentration. You have differing options depending on which evaluation you will face.

Liftsiron, Drink beer! Gallons of it! And the single best way is to get as little sleep as possible.

Hell get only 3 hours a night for 2 nights, have a few drinks and Boum! Legal Test.
