Hello...This is your Liver calling...is it?

heavy only

New member
I've been having a pain (guess I'd call it that) on the right side of my abdomen. It's right at the bottom of my ribcage. I notice it on the side and some around the back. It's not really a sharp pain, nor is it an intense pain. It's fairly constant though. Every once in a while I feel little spikes in the pain. It feels somewhat like a muscle strain but I can poke and push all over the area and not feel anything. Could this be liver pain?

Thanks

Yep, that might be your friend mr. Liver. I have experienced these kinds of pains back when I was using heavily. A blood test confirmed that my liver enzymes were elevated.

Well, what's the ole saying....'that fuking suks'

Thanks for the info though. I have been feeling a bit tired too, guess I should consider taking a gear break for a while.

I've felt this exact pain except mine is only at the lower rib area deosnt rap around or anything. I got my blood work and ALT is 50 which baseline is 40. All the experts I talked to say 50 is not really abnormal maybe normal for me. Doctors ruled out the following HIV, Hep, Gull Stones and Ulcer ALL negative. They loved saying my Liver Enzyme ALT is abnormally high but I just wanted to get a clean bill of health to do my next cycle. They had me scared running all the test though now I can use it as an excuse to get my blood work done. I take Milk Thistle regularly and plan on ALA and Cranberry Ext on next cycle. The pain sometimes goes away when I drink alot of water maybe just coincidence. I saw one specailist and he metioned it could be Skeletal pain and I have heard BB'ers sometimes take Xanax or Nubain for Skeletal pain. Maybe something to consider I cant say my pain is from Liver. Im feel healthy and it doesn't stop me from lifting. The doctors wont reaslly go any further because im not considered Severe which is fine with me I want to Lift and do another Cycle. Ive only done one Cycle before and andro plus ECA stack.
Thats my .02

I was going to post something very similar. I noticed the pain-or sometimes a dull feeling in the general vicinity of my liver after taking 40mg dball for two weeks. I layed off of that while continuing my test and deca. After two weeks without orals, I tried taking the 50mg winny tabs. Took one and the pain came back within a few hours. This really sucks because I got a lot of winny, and you know it ain't cheap(Ttokkyo too). I will try that again on another cycle-hopefully all will go well. Unfortunately I am temporarily without medical until December, so I will not tempt fate by testing myself again with the orals-least not until I can visit my doc.

i was on 50mg of d-bol and 1gram of test fot 6 weeks and started to have some weird things happen. my piss was darker than normal and sometimes burnd. i would take a shit and it also was very dark sometimes. so, i went to the emergency room and they did blood work on me and 2 hrs. later the doctor came in and told me i had hepatitis.........what the hell. my liver enzymes were 99, normal is 40-45. so the next day i took my blood work to my family doctor, he helps many pro bodybuilders and pro athletes. he said there's no way in hell i have hepatitis and for a bodybuilder my liver enzymes were normal. he said the reason why the emergency room DR. said i had hepatitis was that my liver enzymes were elevated. hepa=liver and titis=inflamed.
so i contacted an attorney for what the emergency room put me through. the DR. broke the breech of contract, was telling other DRs. and patitients the next day, that i was on steroids and was saying my name. so for anybody who gets blood work done, make sure your DR. knows his shit.................

Maybe it's that beer you drank last night. J/k. That was good grub, huh? Kinda rich, since I been eating clean. Anyway, lay off the orals and double up on the milk thistle and if it doesn't subside in a couple of weeks, get some blood work done.
The blood test will tell you things you really don't want to know.
But it's for your own safety. See ya at the gym tomorrow.

Why don't you take L-reduced Glutathione

and keep your liver in the normal range values?
1 gram a day is really enough.

You forgot to let us know:

Are you taking Alpha Lapoic Acid and/or Milk Thistle???

Are you drinking a couple gallons of water per day?

With all the strain gear puts on your liver, its just not smart to play without them.

Yep, it's your liver calling. You already know what to do to make it stop. So just do it. And next time be more thoughtfull of your internal organs.

I found L-Glutathione can be purchased at www.kilosports.com and an L-GLUTATHIONE Information Page is online at
http://www.suprahealth.com/glutathi.htm

How are you guys so sure this pain discribed is the Liver I havent even touched any gear for two years. Again my ALT is at 50 and only goes up when I take some Naprosin or Hydro Codone which I only took for a sprained ankle and thats healed. ALT always goes down when I stay away from the anti-inflamatory / meds etc and I dont drink. The transition to health and fitness is one I took about 5 years ago and thats my main goal. Any gains made with Gear is purely seconadary!

So I've decided when Im off Gear I will take Milk Thistle and drink a bunch of water. When I do my next cycle plan to have all the stuff Milk Thistle, ALA, Cran Ext, Maybe L-Glutathione which looks very expensive.

I hope the Doctors on board have some comments on this I emailed the two that Ive seen.
Thanks for everyones input!!!

OK. Part of your problem may be your food intake. Some people don't react well to certain kinds of fat. Some of the fats used in deep frying for example can give me some liver type pains. So look carefully into the diet. Maybe you will get some answers there.

I'm having the same pains right now and not sure what it is the doc done a scan on my gall bladder and found some (pollups) well the spelling might not be right, anyway I feel a little burning pain and sometimes a dull pain under my right rib especially after eating indicating gall bladder problem or to much protein for the ol liver ,I don't know but I don't like it if anyone finds out what there problem is this pain under the right rib be sure and post and I will too.

I hear what you guys are saying about diet and I eat really clean and never have any reaction to food except I was once Lactose intolerant to only whole milk which went away. Maybe two much protien but I dont exceed 200grams. Also for me my ultra sound showed now gall stones and leads me to think my pain is either Liver and I have to deal with it or Skeletal pain which im not very up on that. I heard that AScan cause things happen like your Jaw widens, forehead enlarges and maybe your rid cage expands. Im really just probing on this subject.

I first time I had this pain was when leg pressing had knees to the chest and noticed a sharp pain. Its been with me ever since but flares up at times cant be sure why it comes and goes.

I hope Doctodd and DrJMW can see this post!

actualy , I'm almost positive that your liver can't hurt , because it has no pain receptors.

BUT , it can swell and cause pain

it sounds like the area that you identified , if it is directly behind your ribs , is your diaphram , the muscle that causes your lungs to inflate and contract , you could possibly have a hernia in this muscle.

I broke some ribs once and punctured this muscle and a lung , now I have this pain every once and a while.

Oh yea, you can feel liver pain alright. It hurts alot either to touch or by itself. Try to curl your fingers under your last rib on the right side and take a deep breath. Then push in with your fingers. This brings the diaphragm down and the liver will be pushed down under it. It works great in thin or normal bodied people as opposed to fat people.

I'm hearing all of this mention of ALT figures but nothing about AST. My ALT=49 , in the normal range, but my AST=77, wheras the normal range is up to 45. Naturally I am worried about the AST figure, but everyone mentions ALT, what is AST and should I be concerned with it?

I buy it overhere in Belgium where i live

Jeff_rys, where do you get L-reduced Glutathione and what is it?

But you can buy it in the States as well.
It even exists as a injectable. I believe it was Italian Guy or Italian Sweetness (don't recall the name exactly) who uses it doing 600 mgr/each day in the butt.

Now with Glutathione you can easily go on Winny at 100 mgr/day and 50 or more mgr Of Ox va day for 12-16 weeks. You liver will NOT be affected.

Unfortunately Winny and Ox work MORE on the kidneys, although nobody mentions this.

Wow...lot's of replies. Thanks everyone. Had a family emergency so I've been away for a couple days.

Since there are so many possibilities here I'm going to give a run down on what I've been doing.

Gear: (on week 6 now)
T200 600mg/wk
Eq 600mg/wk
Dbol 50mg ED

Food:
~5-6k calories per day
~220 grams protien
~40 grams of fat
~300 carbs
I drink water and juice only. Lots of water.

Suppliments:
Vitamin E 1200iu/day
Milk Thistle 800/day
Met-Rx Protien 2 per day

I dropped the Dbol last Friday. Had no pain yesterday. So, it is possible that the Dbol is doing this.

I also started taking 'Liver-Rite' Friday.

I'll be back in the gym today. I'll pay attention to see if the pain comes back during/after the workout to see if maybe a hurnia is the cause.

Thanks for all the help.

just drink at least like 2 gallons of water a day....and keep on your liaver protectors...im thinking u dont get enough water .....but what do i know..

Bull-fucking-shit.
Let me punch you in the liver once. And not even hard. You'll never forget that pain, it's quite literally dibilitating. I've been hit in the liver before while doing Muay Thai kickboxing and let me tell you, that a good solid hit to the liver will knock you out! Next time you watch some boxing and you see a guy get knocked out with a body shot, look at the replay and watch where he got hit. It'll be the liver and he's not getting up.
