I should add that I was a little pissed when they ended Stargate: Atlantis prematurely to produce SGU but in retrospect Stargate: Atlantis had been slipping with their writing in a number of episodes the last two seasons. It was good they chose to end the series before the "jump the shark" episode.
I don't know why but I could never stand the stargate series. I thought I'd give SGU a try and so far I"m pleasantly impressed. "light" is in my opinion the best episode of any sci fi series "ever".

The Stargate franchise has always been action/adventure. I think it's a good comparison to the re-imagined BSG because they both went from action/adventure to drama.
If sci fi would only get rid of the geigh ass ghost hunter and its spin offs.
