heart pains

My girlfriend gets pains in her heart area, they are sharp and they last usually 10 seconds or so. she gets them at a frequency of about 1 per week , but has had several per day for the last week.

She is 19 years old. in good shape but does not currently exercise on a regular schedule. an uncle had heart attacks but heart disease is not rampant or anything in her family.

ANy ideas what this could be, or be from?

hmmm, not sure, i get the same pains sometimes in my chest area , and my family has a history of heart disease.. :o

i'm pretty healthy though

i have breathing difficulties sometimes. thought you might want to know...

Most likely a form of heartburn that is often mistaken (even by emergency-room doctors on initial examination) for angina. Have her see her doc just to be safe though.

I also get these sharp pains every now and then. The frequency is once in a blue moon I have no idea really. Probably once every couple months maybe, but nothing of regularity.

They are extremely sharp and right at my heart area. If I breathe in deep it hurts more, so I have to ease up on the breathing, then try breathing regularly again and it is gone. They last about about 10 seconds as well. The pain is extremely sharp and "pinching". No history of heart disease in my family, not that I'm aware of at least.

Sometimes when I get them I also "whiteout" and get dizzy (things get blurry for those 10 seconds). I have no idea what it is and haven't consulted a doctor because my occurances are rare.
