Headed to NYC

I am going to NYC in a few days for a business/pleasure conference. Any good suggestions for things I should check out/do while I am there?
So far I know we are going to a Yankees game and going to see Wicked. I know other shit is planned, but I will have free time too and wanna make the best of it! :)

Central park might be a good spot to check out. There are places in the meet packing district if you want to hit a bar or a good restaurant too. Good beaches are here on Long Island not too far away.

I was hoping to for a good place to get some sun for a day. I can only shop and site see so much. We are staying in Times Square and I don't think the hotel has a pool...Booo
Is the beach close by there? Or any good club pools to hang out in?

why not google earth times square?? i don't know much about it, but there's tons of stuff there!

It's a little bit of a Drive, but not too far is Jones Beach. Not my favorite beach, but tons of people go there.Someone recently got shot on the beach in broad daylight near Coney Island or Brighton Beach. City beaches aren't that nice.

Although I always rag on Canaduh, I've been there a handful of times and it's pretty awesome. People are overly friendly too, at least compared to Seattle.

Do you already have tickets for wicked?

I'm not sure why, but that seems to be the "go to" tourist broadway show the way cats/phantom/etc used to be, but frankly I didn't like it at all and I'm a former drama geek. I thought the story was kinda fun but the music was meh, totally corny. It's too bad spring awakening closed, that was one of the best shows I had seen in years. Of the current crop I'd say Rock of Ages, Spiderman, and lion king all far exceed wicked amongst shows that have high production value and put on a show that you can't see at your local theater (well more the latter two for that, but I've heard rock of ages is really good and you can't go wrong with 80's hair metal lolol).

Beyond the theater stuff I'm worthless to ask about stuff to do in NYC even though I lived there for six years and long island for six lolol. I hated it up there, I'm just not a city girl.

i live in one of the most beautiful areas i know, in banff alberta.. tho im temporarily removed due to work  anyone wants to come up here ill show u around. preferably someone smokin hot or easily willed into trouble!!

We do already have tix to Wicked. It's a conference, so a lot of activities are already planned. But i do get a bunch of free time.
I definitely want to check out soho and china town. I hope there are some "cool" chic's to hang with...but I probably won't get so lucky
