Head Pain

Last Friday I was doing my third set of bench and I was mid rep when the whole back of my head felt like it exploded. I went back in on Sunday and was doing my first set of squats when it happened again. It is the most intense pain I've ever felt in my head. It lasted the rest of the workout and after as well. I went and got and MRA and an MRI and they both came back normal. I just went in today and started doing chest. I got to rep ten on my first set and the back of my head felt like it exploded again. Anybody ever heard about anything like this? Appreciate your help guys.
Also, it doesnt hurt when i run or after a while when my workout is done. Thanks.

Be careful bro...Don't want anyone's head exploding!!

I wouldn't go too heavy with the squats for a while, you don't want your head to explode and then have 500 pounds come crashing down on your corpse.

Go get it checked out!

If you had an MRI your in good shape. It is probably do to an oral like A-50 or T-3, Clen or even a ECA all have been known to cause head pain which can be intense when BP sky rockets during a lift. At first I had thought broken blood vessel but it would likely have showen in the MRI.

I would have to agre with liftsiron T3 and fina do that to me hurt like hell all at once stays with me for short time and all of a sudden just goes away.

I had the same thing a few years back. I was doing leg presses and the back of my head felt like it was going to explode. At the time I was sleeping around 4-5 hours a night and drinking coffee like a fiend and popping ephedrine. I have to believe the stimulants and lack of sleep contributed to this. Also, make sure you breathe when you lift.

I had it and my buddy has had it the docs said the same thing. Don't remember exactly but it is a stress headache. It has something to with stress placed on the place where the spine goes into the back of your head, base of neck...whatever. I took a week off have never had it happen again.

I believe this is calleed " the Valsalvo? effect" it is caused by a huge increase in BP when straining....Are you holding your breath, when on the positive stroke of a rep? your thorasic pressure will build to such an extent when doing thig that you could pass out ...make sure you relieve the preasure by breathing out slightly....Please don't do like these assholes in the gym do , you know them ...breathing out so loud that you can hear them for 500 feet .....I have this same problem as you ...but for me onl;y on the legpress.
