Your ashamed that you happened to be born in a certain country?? Fallen for the collectivist mentality pretty quick, eh?

He also said

"Taxes are lower now".

He's not all bad.

Which will be eaten by inflation...

Granted, however, people need to hear "lower taxes" more and more so they stop looking to big brother to do everything.

I feel similarly.

America used to stand for freedom, opportunity, and fairness though we had our share of problems.

The only thing the current puppet masters concentrate on is enriching the already rich and mostly themsleves at that.

But.....we still have three friends in this world. :)

Does it really bother you if people from other countries have a negative opinion of a country that most of them have never set foot in?

It should.

I doubt that you ever studied international trade. It will take time for Bushbarian policies to have full impact on our exporters but they will.

Well, other than actually being invovled in it, I guess you're right, I've never studied. Other than growing up in a family that lived in the ocean import business, I really am unfamiliar with international trade.

Posts like yours are the typical vague "thoughts" that are uttered when you don;t have speciofics to discuss a real impact.

"budget deficit higher now."

True true, but that's a spending issue, not a taxing issue.

You're speaking as if the government MUST get your money.

Next you will announce that you secretly run the government correct? You can "be involved" without learning about international goodwill.

Yes....we all know that you make a lot of money and claim to be worth 20 million after leaving the Army 3 years ago. Impressive. :)

We are both spitting in the wind...time will tell and I hope you are right but I doubt it.

True. But I am involved on the business end. Business people rarely think about international policy, preferring to just do business. My experience anyway - we didn;t stop doing busienss with China after Tiananmen Square.

4 years now. I wish it was $20M. Not even close. 25%....

well why don't we jack up the deficit even more so we can get more money back? or just knock it out of the park and pay no taxes and spend soley from the deficit?

I'm not really sure what you are saying.

Half of the deficit is owed to the Social Security trust fund, so you can discount that when discussing deficit - the SS fund must by law buy Treasury securities with its surplus. Need to change that law.

Some economists would tell you that as long as GDP outgrows the deficit we are OK. I don't necessarily agree but I understand it.

Again, bnot really sure what yourpointis. You've suggested everything but a dratic spending cut, which is what I am advocating. You're either talking past me or you want government to grow.

Do you really think that the business men and women of other countries care about the political stance of the US, over their own success? I am sure they will discontinue selling to the world's largest consuming country over Bush's actions, and in turn punish themselves.

Interesting analogy that got me thinking. Not bad but it would be better this way:

Visualize China as the eminent global superpower economically and militarily. Responsible for 1/4 of the worlds resource consumption, they decide to attach Saudi Arabia to assure that demands for oil are met. Saudi Arabia owed us a trillion dollars and supplied most of our oil.....they are now defunct.

Iraq is no Saudi Arabia at first glance but consider this. There has never been a dry hole drilled in the area according to a senior geologist that I knew. This implies that both countries sit over an immense oil field that could be as easily emptied from Iraq as from Saudi Arabia.

China also has more carrier groups than the rest of the world put together and it is apparent that global military domination could readily be secured for them......if they had an economical source of quality oil.

Yes......we would do more than bitch about China.
