I'm about to head out this weekend to shop for a new rear projection HDTV set under $1800 or so for the new apt, does anyone here own a HDTV that can post some reviews or recommendations?

Tv's nowadays are way, way overpriced. Some are down payments for cars, or even the book price themselves. I remember years ago when a huge,gigantic "Mitsubishi" 72' used to cost you at max $5-8,000. That was the best you could get. Now you "expect" to pay around that amount standard if you want a decent quality tv today. Most have shitty speaker systems in them.(IMO) At least the older models had "stereo" speakers already in that would make you feel like you were in a damn movie theatre. Rediculious in my opinion what they charge today. Personally, I just don't know how they sell them.

I agree. i service them if you could only see a speaker from a 19" tv its about 1 1/2" X 2" high! and sounds like its comming outta a can.
