HBO Sports needs our help with a steroid special.

Man we talk about NO SOURCE POSTING and then we read this. This is STUPID and SCARY and we don't need to give them anymore than they already have. I can see it now all over the TV look whats happening in mex americans, this is how easy it is for our teens to go and buy drugs this is the reason we need to make stricter laws stiffer penalties for those who are caught with these dangerous steriods and make it a mandatory sentence no less than 3 to 5 years please write your congessman today!!!!! Cant' believe this

I think it's a great opportunity/good venue to discuss steroids in regard to quality of life issues. Legalization, tambien.

In Mexico, the average person has access to anabolics and many other medicines (antibiotics, etc.) without prescription. No need to to waste time/money to visit a doctor and obtain the same paperwork. Ironically, though, that same person is not as knowledagle as his counterpart in the US.

In essence, an educated American consumer cannot gain access to anabolics and is being deprived of what would be a right/privilege in a third world country. All thanks to dumb, outdated, and biased FDA policies.

Unfortunately, bodybuilders do not have an advocacy group needed to bring about reforms in steroid usage. No Tokyo lobbyists (yet). Doctors who understand the class of drugs are not enough. Maybe the subject could be tied to Ventura's perspective on anabolics. Or the ACLU.

Together, the points can be offered in an attempt to show how anabolics could be used safely and responsibly in the "land of the free." It's more than just bigger muscles. Think of rights. Think of the positive self-reinforcement which can be attributed a cycle.

No one would deprive a depressed person his Zoloft, huh?

It's late, and I'm rambling. Still, I agree with the majority sentiment about your appearing on the show. Bad news. (The potential publicity tied to an HBO special does not warrant the exposure. The subject will probably be treated as taboo. We're all familiar with the rippedmass situation, right?) You're basically too important to the cause and should not be made to experience undue risk. Don't be a martyr.

Let one of the board members do the buying. Let him be a soldier, not general, who has less to lose. Please stay in NYC.(Again, there's no risk in Mexico. I would not encourage any border-crossing, though.) Simply don't let the guy be a muscle-headed, ignorant Ronnie clone.

Please forward me the details. I'm a small guy harboring a big beef. Hey -- I don't even need a ticket. And I'm intent on keeping my purchases.
i like his thinking :D

It does not take much thought ....there is not 1 good thing to come of this ....it just sounds shady as hell video some one getting juice in mex ....I bet if this goes on HBO the price of juice will go up big time because it will be harder to get ...

This time next year, you fellas will have to drive to Canada to get your gear.

It's not legal here, but our economy could use the boost. I'll see what I can do.

Oh, I just forgot, the US gov't just chastised Canada for making it too easy to import PSEUDOEPHEDRINE! The substance that used to be in a totally legal cold medication, Sudafed (still legal here I think) is now the subject of an international "scolding" - because apparently, you can make nastier illegal drugs out of it. Yes and you can make a fucking bomb out of fertilizer!

Anyway, I guess no legal steroids in Canada anytime soon.

Man, this US gov't drug paranoia is out of control. Not a good idea to play into it in any way shape or form!

I agree, if the angle starts to become "hormone replacement," over time this is the way to change hearts and minds. Not "oh my god look at what our son is doing on his spring break, buying dirty drugs from a dirty farmacia."

Don't even get me started on the special ABC had on tonight about obesity, and the total shock the reporters expressed at the notion of lowering carbs to lose weight. The diet "totally discredited by the American Heart Association" pushed by Dr. Atkin (who makes $6 million a year and has no children so you can see already he is a bad person) was put to the test by some psychology professor who wanted to actually generate comparative data instead of relying on hearsay. Two groups of dieters, and the low carb ("Atkins") group lost double the weight, had both bad & good cholesterol levels increase (a wash therefore) and triglyceride levels decrease. All stuff most of us already know: fatty can easily get his weight under control and feel better simply by easing back on the donuts and frosted flakes. Yes even if he eats eggs!!! You didn't need Dr. Atkin to tell you that.

And the reporters act all stunned! How can this be? We had Dr. Atkin pegged as some kind of mass murderer!

Of course, they do their best to make low carb diets out to be "extreme" - acting as if you will be just chowing down on bacon all the time and not acknowledging nearly enough that fruit and vegetables are part of a moderate carb diet.

You have to wonder if this sort of thing is based on sheer prejudice and ignorance alone, or whether the depth of vested interests is so great that these stories get planted and the media get led along by Kellogg's, Coca-Cola, Krispy Kreme, etc. (conspiracy theory!)

Is it really so hard to figure out that breakfast cereals and crackers don't exist in nature, and chicken, ostrich (for David Boston), olives, and mangoes do?

Why does the US medical establishment persist in the standard food pyramid mentality when it's well established that the "Mediterranean diet" - which includes lots of olive oil, meat, cheese, and wine, as well as lots of vegetables - protects against obesity and heart disease... perhaps because of the inherent nutritious value of the food, and because it makes people feel full, keeps blood sugar steadier, etc.?

And how about that obese woman in an earlier part of the show. Gets her stomach stapled by some Dr. Nick Riviera type (stapler docs are generally portrayed as lifesavers, unlike low carb gurus) so she can only eat tiny meals, 1200 cals a day total max. What is this suddenly virtuous dieter shoving in her pie hole first, tiny bite by tiny bite? A goddamn Ritz Cracker! $5,000 on surgery, no one remembers to tell this idiot that Ritz Crackers are loaded with hydrogenated vegetable oil!

So after going from 470 to 320 or something, because she is on a sudden starvation diet, a year later when she "stabilizes" at 310 lbs, her next move is to consider getting another operation which will restrict her daily intake to 800 calories! She is now going to be so weak she'll barely be able to move!

So who is the real mass murderer, Dr. Atkins, or the sick medical establishment that excuses obesity, staples stomachs, and never counsels morbidly obese folks on basic things like maybe don't make Ritz crackers 25% of your tiny daily allotment of calories???

Anyway, I'm way off topic. The media take the cake.

The whole pseudoephedrine debate is b/c anyone with a decent understanding of chemistry can make crank out of it in their bathtub. Now if they were a little more educated and had access to a lab, they could make full blown crystal meth out if it. Meth has been spreading like wildfire down here and they probably don't want people from the US going to canada to get it

from 1920 to 1933, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages was a crime in the United States. I imagine that in the 1920s a lot of people were saying that alcohol will never become legal again. If alcohol, a substance that has only sides and no benefits when used could become legal again, than steroids also have a chance to get legalized again. But it won't happen by itself, public awareness has to be created and one tv show is better than nothing.
and i would do it, i'd love to visit Mexico for the first time, but i ain't an american. Don't need to cover my face, steroid use is not illegal in my country. Witholding one's identity does create a "bad boy" image.

what i don't understand is why some people are shocked that hbo found this site....im mean are u people retarded?!? it's not like this site is super secret u can find it on most if not all of the major search engines. it's a pretty popular site. shit the way i found this site was really wierd as hell. i had just started lifting and was never even thinking of lookin into any stuff. i just so happened to be building a website that needed forum software. while looking for forum shit i went to vbulletin's site and this happened to be listed as a site using their software. that's how i found this site. i've been here for over a year now. dont kid yourself people, anyone can find this site. it's not hard to do.

as to the HBO idea, i would be very weary. i hate journalists...always out to exploit people to advance their careers. besides most of them have no idea what the fuck they are ever talking about. jacks of all trades, masters of none.
