George:
I think it's a great opportunity/good venue to discuss steroids in regard to quality of life issues. Legalization, tambien.
In Mexico, the average person has access to anabolics and many other medicines (antibiotics, etc.) without prescription. No need to to waste time/money to visit a doctor and obtain the same paperwork. Ironically, though, that same person is not as knowledagle as his counterpart in the US.
In essence, an educated American consumer cannot gain access to anabolics and is being deprived of what would be a right/privilege in a third world country. All thanks to dumb, outdated, and biased FDA policies.
Unfortunately, bodybuilders do not have an advocacy group needed to bring about reforms in steroid usage. No Tokyo lobbyists (yet). Doctors who understand the class of drugs are not enough. Maybe the subject could be tied to Ventura's perspective on anabolics. Or the ACLU.
Together, the points can be offered in an attempt to show how anabolics could be used safely and responsibly in the "land of the free." It's more than just bigger muscles. Think of rights. Think of the positive self-reinforcement which can be attributed a cycle.
No one would deprive a depressed person his Zoloft, huh?
It's late, and I'm rambling. Still, I agree with the majority sentiment about your appearing on the show. Bad news. (The potential publicity tied to an HBO special does not warrant the exposure. The subject will probably be treated as taboo. We're all familiar with the rippedmass situation, right?) You're basically too important to the cause and should not be made to experience undue risk. Don't be a martyr.
Let one of the board members do the buying. Let him be a soldier, not general, who has less to lose. Please stay in NYC.(Again, there's no risk in Mexico. I would not encourage any border-crossing, though.) Simply don't let the guy be a muscle-headed, ignorant Ronnie clone.
Please forward me the details. I'm a small guy harboring a big beef. Hey -- I don't even need a ticket. And I'm intent on keeping my purchases.
