HBO Sports needs our help with a steroid special.

Dear friends and fellow athletes,

HBO Sports has contacted me to request assistance with a special they are producing on anabolic steroid use in America.

In the special, they would like to videotape someone making a purchase of anabolic steroids in Mexico. If any of you would be interested in their filming you making such a purchase, please send me an email and I will put you in touch with my contact at HBO. There will be no payment of any kind. It is also my understanding that the face of the person making the purchase will be altered to protect his identity.

I believe that this will be a fairly unbiased segment on anabolic steroid use and I would encourage someone to participate.

I doubt very much that it will portray steroids in a positive or even neutral manner. That won't get ratings, nor would it sit well with the general public that watches these things.

More likely it'll be like, "look at how easy it is for people to get these dangerous drugs, yada, yada, yada..." If it was going to be a positive thing, why would they blank out the face of the person buying the roids? It's not illegal in Mexico... They blank it out to add drama, to make it seem furtive and unseemly and dangerous, that's why.

If someone does do it, I'd suggest that he/she insists on getting a script through a Mexican doctor too, just to keep it entirely legal. Also, no smuggling it back in to the states.

They might have been nice to you George, but I'll bet they are lying through their teeth when they tell you it will be an unbiased piece. I could be wrong, in fact, I hope I am -- but I doubt it.

George I would like to think that's true, but I seriously doubt AOL will allow an unbiased view of steroids to air over their network. We'll see.

I hope they are not associating your name with this site in that program. If that's the case, we can probably kiss this site goodbye.

Also, a show like that will do nothing but make it harder for the rest of us to get our gear, becuase like the guys above stated, I don't believe it will be as unbiased as they might try and lead us to believe.
