my mom died of cancer which was in her lungs, brain, bones...well, pretty much everywhere. Damn, I couldn't imagine taking her drugs away from her. They were like the most precious thing around my house. We were always running out.4everhung said:

I started pouring liquid morphine down the drains and tossing all the pills down the grabage disposal, etc. I was moving like a robot. I was so responsible for everything for so long that I didn't know what to do except clean everything up. I ripped the labels off the bottles before throwing them away so no one would see the address and think I had more. I person could get killed by some crazy junkie that way.HumanTarget said:

Well, this was morphine and anxiety meds and other pains pills and cancer drugs, etc. No heroine.4everhung said:
Funny, right before I stopped practicing, I represented the children in two different cases in the same very small town where the babies were born to mothers with heroine addictions. In both cases the moms stopped heroine and were going to a methadone clinic. Funny for there to be two cases in one small town. Is it making a resurgence? Meth was the big problem in this little town.

I sometimes had a hard time coming to an opinion on what was best for the kids. They had stupid parents, but kids who are taken away from there parents often have severe difficulty bonding later. Often, it was a no-win situation -- very sad.
