Has anyone stayed at the Don CeSAR?

My fiance and I went there for our 5 year anniversary with the help of our friend who got us international rates for her being a flight attendant. We've never had the money to stay at such a place so I was pretty overwhelmed with the utter pampering you get. The whole bellboy, concierge(sp?), and room service thing is pretty nice. The refreshment center in the room was utter rape when it came to prices so we didn't even use anything. Due to a screwup on their end, we were only able to stay 1 of the expected 2 days which kinda sucked. This resulted in us only getting to walk on a beach and never even going in the pool or hot while listening to live caribbean music. During breakfast though, they hada buffet where a chef made an on the spot omellette for you which was pretty cool. Realy good breakfast as it should have been for a $40 dollar buffet. Overall, we're hoping to go back there and fully live the experience without it being cut short next time as it was pretty fun while it lasted.

I've stayed at the Don before. I've also attended many weddings there. It's just minutes from my house in fact.

It's really not that expensive to stay there for a weekend. Check on their website. During the off season you can stay three days for under $300 in a suite.

Damn, and to think I was just minutes away from the famous nvrbuffenuff_girl. Or is it infamous :p

Sounds like a nice place. I want to stay in a really fancy hotel once.

My little sis went to Eckerd in St. Pete, so we stayed there for a week when we went down to see her graduate, average hotel. Way too pink for my taste, but still no big deal.

Yea it is a very pink hotel. I've never experienced something like that as my family never had the money so it was all new to me.

We stay at my folks condo across the bridge from the Don every March. Visit it every day while we're there, and love the place. Whats not to like, except the prices!! LOL
