Has anyone here ever owned an Audi?

More specifically, a mid 90s Audi? There is one for sale near me that needs a couple of seemingly minor repairs (water pump) that is a great deal. I could almost buy it, fix it, and turn a profit. My question is, did you have a lot of problems with them? Was it reliable? I know the repairs are going to be pricy, so hopefully in turn they are reliable. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

one of our family cars is an A6... havent had a single problem with it (mind you it only has like 8000km on it)
from what I know, Audis are extremely well put together and generally have an excellent track record

a good friend of mine has a 1994 A4 with about 140,000km on it, and he's only had to put about $2000 total into it, but I'll be honest, I'm not sure what of that $2000 is upgrades and what is repairs

I owned a TT coupe tonight when I was driving home from work. We entered the double-S curve together, I exited about half a block ahead of him.

Never owned one, but for reliability(average) and typically great german handling/engineering,
I hear you can compare it to a VW Passat, Jetta or GTI...

Audi and VW share many items across their platforms these days..

i owned an audi 5000 about 8 years ago, for 14 months....."great german engineering" (talk about a contradiction of terms!) drove me to buy hondas.

i've owned audis multiple times

first time, i walked up to an A6 in this parking lot

i was like what's up bitch, looking like a yugo

0wn3d.

the later model audi's gradually upgraded their interiors....theylook quite nice now. mine was not so upscale looking. the a/c was barely adequate for the long, hot, humid summers we have here in new orleans. the price of parts was an unpleasant su-prise.....worse than my benzes or volvo's, but not as bad as jaguar prices.

my hondas felt jewl-like, with tight tolerances and precision built into every part, compared to the audi....the 5000 felt dull, klunky, slow and dim witted compared to the hondas.

My sister has an 1994 A4. Its terrible - full of problems. In the shop every two months. She got it fixed two weeks ago and they had to replace the whole computer. Costs a shitload. My mom has an A6 1999 and the mechanical designing was so bad that the panels fall apart and the wiring is terrible like the A4. Dont get an Audi or VW.

My family is never getting one again.
