Has Anyone actually HAD an Abscess ???

There are a couple of recent threads about abscess at injection sites and numerous ones when you search old posts, but I don't see any comments from anyone that has actually gone through it.
I am scared right now that I have one because I have a lump that I just noticed 6 weeks after my last injection. It is a little tender but not red at all. If I am standing I can't even tell it's there but when I lay down and pull my leg up to my chest it is quite pronounced.
Any info/advice from anyone who has had one would be helpful to me and the other user (glenn?) that are going through this right now.

seems unlikely you would have an abcess six weeks AFTER an injection. see my current thread. i am a little freaked out now myself. hopefully when i wake up tomorrow my soreness will be less pronounced. my imagination is running wild now, thinking about a major infection spreading down my leg and the doc tells me he has to amputate. (ok, this is an exaggeration but it DID cross my mind. i have a habit of obsessing).
