not only the legs, the Dr might want to take a look up north to make sure the cyst has not spread somewhere else...the pesky cyst...

oh yeah, and post pics after the shaving, thx

just bend over and take it like a woman... you won't feel a thing

you poor thing.

Then let me do it, I promise you'll feel something. Wait, what are we talking about?

I've never had one drained but I've had 2 removed from my wrist. The first time they burst it and couldn't get the whole capsule it was in out. Nice. They told me I'd have to let it come back again and need surgery in about a year. I was in a lot of pain for that year because I wound up with a ton of scar tissue (besides the cyst I had scar tissue about the size of a grape in my wrist). I had a cortizone shot between surgeries.

The 2nd surgery was done by a hand/wrist specialist. It went well. He scraped everything out of there and I've been a-okay since. Good luck!

ouch.... something tells me this was the kind of post she was "not really looking forward too".

My wife had the same in the right wrist. Surgery 3 times so far...

That's a bummer! I had to not train my upper body at all for over 18 months. It's hard to do if you really can't hold anything in your left hand.

cyst & drained are two words that should never be uttered together by a hot chick.

Ok, what exactly are these cysts? I mean, I thought it was like a really bad pimple. Or is that what my grandmother used to call a risen? Who knows wtf grandparents are ever talking about anyway?

But she never said anything about them having a capsule. What causes them?

For me my wrist apparently got pissy with me having too much weight in it while my hand was supinated. I wound up tearing a little bit around the joint and it leaked synovial fluid out into my wrist area. That pissed off my wrist more and it formed a cyst.

There's a capsule-- you can see it on an MRI. They did a "bloodless" surgery the first time where they push most of the blood out of the arm and in the process they burst the cyst. So they just dug around in there for 45 minutes or so. Whatever they did just wound up screwing things up even worse.

That's part of why I had so damn much scar tissue. The first time around I had a TON of wrist pain and then I had what looked like a really hard thing sticking up that looked like it was the size of a big grape. It wasn't sexy. Or fun.

from the back of their knee?? :worried: Just wondering how bad it was lol

Princess...I had one drained...removed just a few weeks ago. It was actually a big topic of discussion on the board for a few days. It is simple. You won't feel a thing, just like a little pin prick and within 3 minutes you have a nice new bandaid and most probably a lolipop.

go get em tiger...your gonna be just fine.

If it would help I can meet you at the Dr.s office and hold your hand. ;)

OMG....The dose of cortisone he shot in is the killer.....Holy crap my leg hurts...But I am hoping will fell much better in a couple days!!

I have a Ganglion cyst that needs to be drained/removed...the local DRs. wont do it in the office as its on top of and has a couple of veins running thru it...doesnt hurt really...but its getting bigger...left forearm

I drained one time, just decreased its size, it was in the forehead and actually affected the bone growth of the skull since he had since he was a kid so I didnt want to take out too much fluid and leave him with a dent in his forehead. Stuck a sterile needle in after preparing the forehead and drained it out in like less than a minute, had this bump on his forehead that bugged him for years and he was like, thats it, thats all that had to be done lol.
Simple procedure to drain it, removal is more invasive obviously.
