I just read this press release:
"A PERFECT CIRCLE frontman Maynard James Keenan announced on stage at last night's "Axis Of Justice" event in Hollywood, California that the group are in the process of recording a collection of political songs, which they hope to release by November this year. The band's former bass player, Paz Lenchantin, will be contributing to the album by recording both violin and piano parts, although she will not be returning to the group as a full-time member. The as-yet-untitled effort is tentatively due on November 16 through Virgin — the same day that the band's live DVD and remix album are scheduled to appear in stores."
The "Axis of Justice" is a Bush bashing, communist anti-American group formed by Tom Morello(guitarist of commie Rage Against the Machine, now Audioslave), Serj from System of a Down(more clueless leftist America haters)and Flea thrown in so they can have a good drug connection. Check their website- the links section is hilarious. You have your Chomsky, your Che Guevarra,Mumia,Howard Zann- if they are communist, anarchist or insane, they are on the recommend list. Maynard was on hand at their concert and now he has a political songs album coming out. Super. More like "Axis of Ignorant Asses".
Are there any hard rock bands that aren't liberal chomsky loving asshats? It seems like 99% of bands nowadays are anti-capatilist,anti-American,Bush bashing at every chance morons. I don't expect much intellect or common sense from a burnt out rocker but still, what happened to the ass-kicking attitude hard rock had at one time? So many heavy bands are total pussies. There music sounds aggressive but they are "peace" activists. It doesn't make sense. Do these ignorant jebrone's think they are reliving the 60's? Like Mr Lebowski says to the due in "The Big Lebowski":
"The bums lost!!"
Ministry, who I used to be really into are total leftist morons. I read an interview with singer Al Jourgenson and he was parroting the same tired old liberal slogans about no blood for oil and blah blah blah. The guy is so ignorant that he referred to the infamous "presidential IQ" test and said how stupid George W. is. Well anyone that has a clue knows that was a total BS internet thing that went around years ago. It has since been debunked. System and Rage, both good bands but I just cannot listen to anyone promoting their brand of BS. I wouldn't give them a cent of my money if they are going to go around teaching clueless uninformed kids their radical agenda.
I love how a famous rich rock star can go around saying how great communism is. Classic hypocrisy. They should move to Cuba is they like it so much. Perhaps they may prefer China?!
Bands like System of a Down and Rage have links to the communist party on their website. This is what kids think is cool now?
Myself, I am a conservative(in case you couldn't tell already) and I have a hard rock band. I seem to be the minority, that's for sure. We have Kid Rock, The Nuge, Hatebreed, Black Label Society and a handful of others that lean right- that's it. Most other bands follow the liberal line like sheep. Am I the only conservative rocker on Earth??
A guy like Maynard James Keenan is very intelligent but that has nothing to do with political persuasion. Some of his statements I have read online are mind bogginly ignorant, especially from someone who was in the military for a couple years.
Why are all these artists so completely opposed to logical thought? Where is the kick ass, in your face, take no crap hard rock?!!?
