Hang Cleans

Worked chest yesterday, but today I am gonna try a little something different for my delts and hit the hang clean (maybe press if I can handle it).....I just pull it off the rack, roll it up to my front delts and then press if I can, right? Good delt and trap movement? SHould I start with 65lbs? If my bench is around 205?

what does the bench have to do with a hang clean? i could have sworn a hang clean was just a power clean without returning the weight to the ground after evey rep...

wouldnt you base how much to hang clean off of your power clean max?

the hang clean is a shrug and a clean. more traps work than delts..

bench and clean (hang or power or whatever) is about the same weight as they both increase about the same
 
well tody was my first tome....did the full clean and press.....want to try to incorpate a really good 6x routine with one off day using at leasst one low rep power movement eachbbtime. can anyone assist mme? today I did barx12 65x10 75x6 85x6 98c x 5 +1 failed the final press the 95x2 +3 without press.....arnold drop sets lat raises upright rows to finish.....tomorrow arm day.....sunday legs....mon barbell chestb tues deads n backb wed delts seated bnp........thursday chest dbellls today the above.....im pissed I haven't done cardiobin 7 dauys I sm bsrely eating u had a few big salads....prob a lb of xhicken and 10 egg whites I yolk.....1.5 fups ofboats 2c almonds and a hokemade ww pizza and the scale is skyrockwting..heavist I've ever been....why? is it the cyp holding water? march 1 isbfull blown cycle....is thisbgonna get out of hand? still jave 2 abs but faded fast.....help....15lbs in 2 weeks isnt normal esp on half of what I shouleb be eating
 
Your gaining weight, that is great Jeff. Your blackberry skills are not so great.

Cyp makes you hold water, but so does drinking water. Be happy the scale is moving in the right direction.

Ever see an off season pic of Arnold? He lot's his ab's from time to time - hell, his abs were never even decent by todays standards.

I like to work Cleans in low reps - triples or even singles. Then you just do however many reps you can muster before you want to quit the gym forever. Then do 3-4 more reps. Honestly, Cleans are one of the hardest parts of my week. Check my log out for a view of how I progress w/ weights. You know I am a low rep guy, but this is as compound as a lift can get, and form is ultra important.

i want to bench, deadlift, clean, row or str8 bar burl, close grip once every session.....at these one of those 6x a week...thoughts?

i agree with nooob, there is no relation between bench and clean, they are completely different style lifts and most peoples clean is restricted by technique anyway not strength (as with the bench press) so there is no comparision really. they dont even use the same muscle groups!. If your new to the clean then you need to learn the technique 1st with light weights and build from there.

well ya' they're obviously different style lifts, the reason why they're guessing they're cleans are around their benchpress is like I said before, they are around the same weight lifted, with benchpress being a little more, while they both have around the same increases as you progress. the reason for this is because of less muscle usage for benchpress and the special technique used in powerclean is why they are guessed around the same weight.
