Triangulate the location of the pain:
1) Is the painful spot on the inner wrist (pinky side) or outer wrist (thumb side) or is it in the middle?
2) Is the painful spot halfway between the wrist and beginning of the fingers?
3) Is it felt more on the back of the hand/wrist or on the palm side?
With that being said, does it:
4) Hurt when you flex your wrist (like when you flex the forearm)?
5) Hurt when you extend your wrist (like the hand position when you do push ups)?
6) hurt even when you're resting?
Describe the pain a little more:
is it sharp?, dull?, throbbing?, numbness in the fingers?, etc.
When in doubt, get an x-ray.
