Have you grown new hair or just maintaining? My hairline is my biggest concern now. I`ve been on
Minox
Spiro
finasteride
poly 80
Nizorol
For a a couple of months now and it shows promise. I would like to know where I 'may' be in 7 months.
Absolutely I have grown hair on my hair line. At first it was velious (very slender baby like hair and white) and after a couple months much of it changed to the color of my natural hair. It has not become terminal (thick like natural adult hairs) as of yet.
But hair that is grown when we are a baby, can take a long time to become terminal (very thick and dense) and there is no reason for me to suspect that it would be otherwise, in this case.
Notes:
1)Some people simply do not respond to minoxidil or propecia. The first time I used generic minoxidil, about 3 years ago, it did nothing. But it was the only thing I was using.
2)Azaelic Acid (15%) seems to boost the growth pattern of the hair for me. It is really hard on my skin, especially when combined with the alchohol of the minoxidil. Makes me want to scratch my head into oblivion. But it seems as the skin flakes away (very flakey at times), the new growth of skin being repaired (bolstered by folligen) brings with it new hair growth.
I use AA because in-vitro test showed that it combated/killed dht. With propecia removing about 75% of the DHT, some was still in system. Your body needs to have some DHT in system. But applying the Azaelic Acid gel to the scalp gave me the possibility of spot on DHT removal of any reamining DHT making it way to hair follicles. The bonus (I theorize) is when a couple hours after applyng AA, I would apply Minoxidil. Combined, it burns like a motherfucker for 40 minutes, but I really think it assists the minoxidil to penetrate the skin.
My dermatoligist gave 15% AA when I had requested 5%. Because she uses 15% for other skin uses on patients and was familiar with it. I had requested to change the RX down to 5% because of the burn, but, because she is seriously impressed with the growth of hair she doesnt want to change anything. She has also started taking notes of everything I do and is actually learning from me. But unfortunately she has yet to OK spironolactone or nolvadex yet.
3) Natural hair growth at the follicle happens only every 6 month or so. While your permanent hair continues to grow all the time, NEW hair usually only occurs every 4-6 months. (Or so my research tells me). What this means, is that often a person will not see any hair growth from minoxidil or porpecia until the body allows it. Sometimes it can be a long wait.
i would see a specialist in alopecia personally, get a physical checkup etc etc...then do what they say.
This is solid advice. In my Californian town of 300,000, there are none. Like I stated, Im teaching my dermatoligist, seriously.
