Hey folks just thought id say hi and introduce myself. I have been BB for 15 years making me 30 years old. I am a true Canuck (Canadian) to heart eh? lol. This froum seems really cool and alot of good info to look at. I 've seen a few good articles from spatts, beast, debaser, and ironaddict.
I use to compete amatuer style back around 5 years ago and use to weigh 255 at 5' 10/ 9% BF in the off season. But my posession was turning people into giant freaks instead of making myself one. I now weigh 191 at 11%BF and Im content with it. But still have the gift to make monsters.
I seen alot of routines posted on here like HIT, 5X5, Volume stuff ect. and I'd say alot of people are overtraining thier bodys and not eating properly or enough. I did not get to 255 lbs by eating 3 to 4 meals a day you have to feed yourself like a wild beast. 60% of your results will come from eating and nutrition the other 40% is the way you train. So for those who dont focus more on eating kiss those 60% results goodbye and if you end up doing some sort of high volume training kiss the other 40% goodbye!
I am a firm beliver in basic compund exercises. Pwerlifting, Squats, Bench Press, Deads ect. Isolation exercises are for pussys. Stick to the basics and you will grow! I am also a firm believer in low volume training. A few light warmup sets and 1 set to absolute failure (using such principles as rest pause, negatives and forced reps) is enough for cellular breakdown, recuperation and than growth.
Now I wont take into the account of genetics cause Id be here all night. Yes everyone is different and some people grow with volume training. But if I ever did which I have got a hold of a volume trainer and took him through one of my so called The Generals Workouts it would make his workout look like Disney Land. Everyone has many different theories and methods of training past down by generations of informative people in fitness the cool thing is finding what really works for you and always have an open mind about different training methods some day something new you try just might end up working for you!
Peace bros! Good to be here!
