Gyno from Progesterone

I read somewhere that when you get pregesterone gyno symptoms there is more of a burning feeling than itchy feeling.

Mifepristone(ru486) is a progesterone blocker the same way nolvadex is for estrogen. I have not found any supplier that carries this, and I have heard its very expensive.

Just an FYI.......LloydChristmas

Interesting....

Progesterone

Progesterone, hormone formed by the
granulosa cells of the corpus luteum of the
ovary. The corpus luteum is a structure in
the ovary that develops at the site where a
mature egg was released at ovulation.
Therefore the level of progesterone rises in
the second half of the menstrual cycle
(see Menstruation). If the released ovum is
not fertilized, production of progesterone
falls just before the onset of the next
menstrual cycle and the corpus luteum
degenerates. Progesterone was isolated and
crystallized by three independent groups of
investigators in 1934. It is a steroid hormone,
a compound possessing the same chemical
nucleus as the female estrogenic hormones
and the male androgenic hormones, as well
as cholesterol and adrenal steroid hormones.
The principal function of progesterone is the
preparation of the mucous membrane of the
uterus for the reception of the ovum. The
hormone also stimulates the formation of
saclike structures in the lacteal glands in
preparation for their function of producing
milk, and inhibits the release in the pituitary
of prolactin hormone.

Just thought I would share..

P.S. Haaaaarry your haaands are freeezing.....

:wavey:

Good information I guess, but I don't know how that pertains to bodybuilding males, perhaps you can enlighten me. Mifepristone and its sister drug misoprostol are both prostaglandin analogs. They are both used as progesterone blockers, and I would speculate that they both block corticosteroid action, which appears to be the negative side effect causing raised corticosteroid production following treatment. Misoprostol may be easier to get ahold of than mifepristone because it is sold under the brand name Cytotec. Cytotec is used for the prevention of stomach ulcers and stomach irritation in patients taking pain and arthritis drugs, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for long periods of time.

I will do alot more research on prostaglandins, and keep those who are interested posted through the board. They don't appear to add muscle mass to the people who have tried them on this board. Most studies are done on pregnant animals,, but I'm sure there are studies to be found for adult males. I want to know how prostaglandins build muscle. Perhaps its through the blocking of corticosteroids.

an abortion pill????? ru-486 is an abortion pill why would you guys take that? I mean I know for progesterone but personaly I would rather get gyno but that is just me....and no I am not being a wise ass, just curriouse thats all:arrow:

Hey...Lloyd are you saying that Cytotec is used as a progesterone blocker?

Because I take Cytotec now.....because I have bad head aches (from when I was hit by a drunk driver) and have to take 7 ibuprofen at a time.....

This is a very interesting topic....

Bump.....

Yes, both Mefepristone(ru486) and Misoprostol(ru534)are prostaglandin dialogs, and act very similarly. I will have to find the study again, but it seems that Cytotec(misoprostol) blocks the progesterone receptor and also serves to block the cortisone receptor at the same time without side effects. The blocking of the cortisone receptor causes an increased production of cortisol however. It seems no drug is without negative effects.

Hey Lloyd I bet you can't dig up that article........I'll give ya two to one odds, three to one?

Hey wait a minute...I think I.....yeah....I just had an idea....

You are right badgermilf I cannot find the study that says misoprostol is a progesterone blocker. Maybe I got the facts messed up in my head. I need a more structured approach to my studies. I am now copying all interesting studies into my own personal database. Thanks!

Very few people are actually prone to progesterone gyno. Especially at low doses of gyno. Also, I experienced no soreness, puffiness or itchiness in my nipples. The only thing I saw was that they became a little triangular. Is this gyno? Will it go away with a couple weeks of nolvadex?

Hey GettinSwole did you read an article that stated that very few people are prone to progesterone gyno or are you assuming from what you have read?

And I bet you won't take Nolvadex or Armidex either. Both cancer drugs for womens breast cancer! We'll we will all know who you are when we see you walking down the street with big TITTIES! :p
Come on guys...???
