with gyno, do the swollen glands have any other effect on the body or do they just look unsightly. After having them removed will be their be any other positive side effect apart from obviously looking better?

We do not know of any functional value of the breast gland for men (gynecomastia). Gynecomastia typically consists of gland and fat.
