Gym promotion ideas.....

Dear All,

I need your help. I have an interview tomorrow to become a fitness trainer for a ladies gym. I am certain one of the questions they are going to ask is,

"Think of ideas of getting new customers to join the gym"

Your help would be ever so much appreciated.

Aside from all the regular ones like discounting time or money off enrollment or dues you could use your service you provide as an insentive for new members. Like offering a 2 for 1 deal to new customers or a free diet work up with the perchase of a 4-6 week package. That would also show that you are comitted to the facility.

but back to the gym ideas, you should read up on referral techniques there are lots of cheap ways to get new business, it's too bad you don't have more time before your interview

What about implementing a "buddy" thing, just a guy to train side by side to the new guys, spotting, doing the same exercises, just some motivation to keep people up ..

Other then the food idea, maybe massage? Im starting training myself, but havent had to consider this yet, since Im training on my own in a community gym for now. Welcome to the boards!! Lets keep the ideas coming in!!

they will ask you for your qualifications, not how to drum up business for memberships. if anything they will want to know how you intend to increase YOUR business, trainingwise. mention that you have great rapport building and plan to do alot of referral based business through word of mouth, etc.
