Guys who do deads, do you do direct trap work also?

no...none. deads have made my traps overpower my delts so i don't give them any extra work. i wish there was a compound exercise that made my delts grow like deads did for my traps.

oly lifts hit the traps already nicely. when i don't do cleans and such, i'll throw in a couple of shrugs and holds at the end of a deadlift routine. seems to work well

I have only been lifting for around 18 months, settled into a back routine consisting
of shrugs, dead lifts, and lat pull downs.
my body weight 18 months ago was 140 lbs ( at 5' 10 ) - skinny !!
Starting weights for shrugs = 50lb x 50, dead lift 130lb x6, lat pull downs 120lb x6

Now weighing 160 lb ( still a little light )
training weights :- shrugs 300lb x 20, dead lift 280lb x 5, lat pull down 184lb x 5.

The current problem being I am unable to fatigue my traps to any real degree.
Any ideas ???
