Gunmaker held liable for murder ...

Someone should sue Breyer's Ice Cream for being 5% at fault for making their child fat. I wonder what would happen? In the one could use the same arguement.

Gun = Gallon of Rocky Road
Bullets = Spoon
Child = Child with parent that bought ice cream (and had spoons in the house)

From the above article. (I feel a copyright suit coming)
Pam Grunow's lawsuit accused Valor Corp of distributing a gun that was "unsafe, defective and lacked features that would have prevented a minor from using it."

The case stems from the murder of teacher Barry Grunow by one of his students. Nathaniel Brazill shot Grunow to death two years ago in a West Palm Beach classroom.

Pam Grunow's lawyer asked for $76 million. But the jury found gun distributor Valor Corporation 5 percent liable for Grunow's death. The owner of the gun and the school board held the most of the liability, the jury found.

The jury didn't find any liability for Nathanial Brazill, who pulled the trigger. Brazill stole the unloaded gun and bullets from a cookie tin stashed away in a dresser drawer of family friend Elmore McCray.

The jury said Grunow's family should get $24 million from the three parties. The school board was told to pay her $10.8 million, and the family friend was told to pay $12 million.

This is the first lawsuit in the country in which a gun company has in any way been held responsible in a murder.

So, I guess there will be a new clause in gun purchasing documents.

Did I read that correctly? The kid who pulled the trigger was not found culpable? This decision is a perfect example of the dumbing-down of America.
This story is further indication that, if you find yourself in court, forgo the jury trial and ask a judge to hear the case. I would never place my continued freedom in the hands of twelve idiots such as those who rendred these decisions.

Has Sarah Brady and her ilk chimed in on this case yet? It shouldn't be long before they are also blaming the NRA for this killing.

Well, the family that the kid stole the gun and bullets from were found at fault (12 Million). Which I find interesting because the child didn't steal a loaded gun - he had to find or retrieve the bullets from a separate location and load the gun.

So, what would you suppose was the kid's intent? He was motivated enough to steal the gun and the bullets and load the gun - he had to have know the difference between a loaded gun and a not loaded gun, therefore he should know the potential of the loaded gun, no?
