What country are you looking at? You can always change the stock later, but I'd be more concerned with the quality of the weapon. I've seen some that were really well made, and seen some others that I'd feel more comfortable grabbing by the barrel and swinging at someone rather than trying to shoot them with it. I've always liked the underfolders though when it comes to stock style.

first tan your ass, second, get the ak with the buttstock, then buy the underfolder, then buy an AR50 before they are banned.

If you want a good aftermarket folding, get an ATI side folding. Lightweight, cheap and solid.

Both are overpriced. Yugos are about the same quality as Norinco and I used to sell Norinco's AKs for $300.

seems everyone is buying them around 499 to 550 .. checked out the ak47 ar15 forums same shit.. dunno why they are so popular.. i'd cop a sidefolder i just dont like them at all.. any other suggestions manny?

SKS with an ATI side folding stock. It will look like an AK-47 but cost actually 1/2 price while being very reliable. SKS are dirt cheap (100-150) and the ATI stock is around 100$.
