Gun owners: Aiming with iron sights

Use the sight as a visual refence against the target, not a focal point.

If you look to much at the sight, you won't see the target clear enough. If you focus on the target, you may not have the gun sighted correctly.

Learn to balance between your gun sights and the target you are shooting.

I can't seem to aim properly with guns that have notched sights. When I acquire a proper sight picture, the target always has a double image. Is there any way to correct this? Since my right eye is dominant, the right image is the correct one, but I was under the impression that the target was supposed to be blurred, instead of having a ghost image.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do you close your left eye? I've gotten to where I leave both open, are you shooting a pistol or a long gun?

My problems would be solved if I closed my left eye, but I hear that it is better to keep both eyes open, so I am doing that. I have the same problem with both pistols and long guns.

My sight picture isn't blurry, my left eye doesn't focus on anything really, sometimes I close my left eye when shooting long distances with a rifile, I think you just need to keep both open for pistols to you are aware of your surrounding better.

"Islam is a religion in which God requires you to send your son to die for him. Christianity is a faith in which God sent his Son to die for you."

I'm sure the same thing was requested by God in the Old testament, I can't remember who but I'm sure someone else here could remeber, anyway the father said no and so God punished the puny mortal, right on!

It's better to shoot in the way in which you are most sucessful. What do you shoot? What are you training for?
