I got my esteban guitar package about 10days ago..and have played like every other day..but cant play for more htna 5-10 minutes..it kills my fingers...how long does it take till the pain goes away?

acoustic guitars are the worst for this.. look up how to lower the bridge, can help with the fingers.. or just wait. You will build callouses and you'll be able to play a lot longer

just keep playing through the pain for now, callouses will develop and then it wont bother you anymore. Accoustic is MUCH worse. I started on accoustic because its more difficult to play than an eletric

I'm not exactly a great guitar player but I lowered the bridge on my acoustic and didn't notice a sound difference but I just screw around w/ it.. nothing serious

I've been out of it for awhile, but...

Don't lower the bridge, it'll mess with the action on the 12th fret, give you some nasty vibration near the nut, and poor harmonics. It simply won't do the trick. Get yourself some smooth strings, like D'Addario...they are fairly smooth. When you build up some callouses, then switch to GHS Boomers...those were my favorite anyway.

agreed. It takes a while to build up calluses. Last summer I played so much my fingertips were flat.

I take it it's not a classical guitar with nylon strings and wide fret board. Man up and play until those fingers bleed.

Lower the action and decrease string weight until you still have good tone and no buzz.

I suspect your bridge is not real bone. Make sure you sand it down on the flat side and keep it flat. You'll start getting fret buzz if you lower it too far.

its really not that bad..for 150$ you cant go wrong...got an amp , case..lesson book and lesson dvds
