Even if this is true, the world will be watching for the first couple of years if that and then we will carry on with our own self consumed lives.
I would believe that but just last night they had a special on ABC about the 6 tuplets, they are 9. Also this is a little bit more advanced then test tube babies,fetility drugs and the research for it was never banned from the US.

It's probably true, the last I've heard of her is when she wrote for the international committee for intellectual property, about 8 years ago. Her skills are VERY profound, so I think she might have pulled it off. However, the validity of the survival of the subject remains to be seen. Mostly due to the deformation of the hemoglobin levels found in cloned subjects. The Kreb cycle is also disrupted in a lot of these individuals, unlike w/ the original subject. (type I diabetes might be an outcome).

If this is true - big if- the baby wil likely develop all types of health problems and in all likelihood die young.
Cloning someone DOES NOT mean you will get an exact match. while teh genetic code is identical, different genes are expressed and repressed fro reasons as yet unknown to scientists. Most believe it has to do with environmental factors present or absent right after conception and on into childhood. In other words, the cloned child will not look identical to the one from which it was cloned.
This does not even address the issue of personality development.

Yes. Even if the clone is physically identical. Isn't it not much more than an identical twin. It is still a different person with a different soul so I don't see what the religious establishment is so upset for. I don't agree with it. If these humans are going to be born with defects, then I think that it is cruel. Death is a certaintly. What are they hoping to achieve? I think maybe the notoriety more than anything else.

Always nice to see science progressing but I see no reason to start cloning people, the world is already over-populated. Plus cloning is way more expensive way to duplicate than a couple of beers and a handfull of clomid. If the cloning involved actually manipluating the human genome to screen for genetic abnormalities or something than I could see posssible application.
