The wider your grip on shoulder presses, the shorter your range of motion. I keep mine shoulder width, maybe slightly wider. That'll get your elbows down nice and low to get the most out of the excercise.

Middle fingers are 24" apart for me...which is not quite shoulder width for me I train this way because that is the grip width on most logs used for overhead presses.
