Yesterday 4 plain-clothes police officers came to my house with the ephedrine I had ordered from GreenCanyon.com. They told me that GreenCanyon.com is flagged by customs and that customs ripped open the box, saw the ephedrine and contacted them to "deliver" it to me; that is to say, to look for a meth lab.
(Oddly enough they said usually customs just throws boxes from flagged sources away, but for some reason they sent this to the local P.D. They did say that if I ordered from there again it would be intercepted and thrown away.)
I explained that ephedrine is not illegal and that I could have just gone to the local gas station and bought it but it was cheaper online. Ignoring what I just said, the police said that ephedrine was legal but having the precursors to meth wasn't.
Not wanting to resolve this quickly and not have a stupid discussion about it, I invited them in to search my house for a meth lab.
While one policeman told me that I should use Metabolife instead, the other 3 searched bathrooms, closets (Ha) for a meth-lab. Finding nothing after a few minutes they left. Later in the day I went into the basement to find that one of the overzealous policemen half ransacked it, leaving boxes ripped open and lids off storage containers, etc. I just hope he didn't steal any old videotapes or old clothes!

). No law says you can't order ephedrine or anything else that is legal. If they are so paranoid then that is thier problem, not yours! Also any lawenforcement agency cannot arbitrarily throw your stuff away. They have to make an effort to contact you of the seizure. At that point you call rip someone a new one and tell them not to hold your package any longer or you will be speaking to thier superiors (trust me I know what I'm saying). Explain how that is not a controlled substance and they have no authority to detain your package. If that was the case ephedrine would be getting pulled from health stores, etc. As far as the cop telling you what you should be using, its none of his damn business! Well I've ranted and hope my .02 cents helped.
