Got the competition bug

Hello,
I'm Mrs. Jnuts, I've been reading all the posts and thought I'd introduce myself and I also need some advice.
I'm planning on doing a Figure comp. June 11. I've been training 4 days a week, cardio 4-5 a.m. on an empty stomach. I'm taking T-rex, eating fairly clean, but need some help w/ratios. I've been following Daisy's plan but sometimes I don't get all my meals in due to running kids here and there etc.

I turned 40 in Nov. 5'5 aprox. 135 lbs. I'm getting my Bf taken tomorrow. My prob. area is my stomach. My legs and arms are fairly good but my glutes and ab's are soft. I will post my meals and pic.s some time today :)

^^ posting these will most definitely help to address your questions/concerns

P.S. Hi :wavey:

Congrats and good luck with the comp. :)

Congrats Mrs J! Looking forward to it! For comparison on your own time, you can probably check against Shadow's PRoject for meals, training, etc.

Great! Shadows project thread has alot of info in it.. ;)

Hi MrsJnuts!! Nice to see you over here!! Did you compete before?? Welcome back!!

I have seen some pics of Mrs.J else where and she looks out standing the pic I saw of your abs looked like it was not a weak spot at ALL.

Very nice! Doesn't look like getting lean is an issue. How's the muscle & bodyfat at this point?

Actually, the ones on the right are when she had the pro-tan on. About 3-4 layers worth. We are taking the "now" pics right now...

Now pics

(she should be doing the rest of the posting from here on out. Mr Jnuts is now stepping away from the forum.....)

I have always thought you look awesome. :)

If I HAVE to suggest anything to work on, I would focus on adding more muscle to the shoulders and arms. I think if you make your shoulders more "meaty" it will balance you out very nicely.

LOVE your obliques! :)

Thanx Daisy,
I'm working on that, do you have any arm exercises you could suggest, did u see my current pic.s Yuck!! I'm pretty bloated in the mid-section, what can i DO to lean down this waist?

Mrs. Jnuts

Shoulders - focus on compound movements..... Clean and Press, Overhead Press (w/DB or BB). Lateral Raise and Front Raise are fine, but won't add as much meat as the other two.

You STILL have a great base. Your muscle WILL remember how to get in shape, promise.

Since the first set of pics was taken (the leaner ones) to now - what has occurred? Did you stop training, stop dieting?

I think with a clean diet and good training, you will be back to hte previous form in no time. Check out the Shadow's Project Stickies at the top for sometime to follow. :) Good stuff.

And I want to SERIOUSLY commend you for posting the "before" pics. That takes a lot of nerve....most people don't do it. I think that shows a lot about you and your dedication. :)

Thank DG, will focus more on compund ex. I pretty much started eating what ever I wanted. I was in night school also and started eating more at night and sitting in class didn't help. I also found out I am hypothyroid, I started gaining weight out of the blue. Its finally under control and I'm on med. It was not easy to put those before pics up. Def. wasn't going to post a behind shot.
I'll ck. out Shadows thread :)

Diet is what got me in the best shape back in 2002, I followed a program to the T, no cheat days. Time to get re-focused and stay clear of the carbs after noon. What do all do to stay focused? I need to get on these boards more often :)

I'm gonna work on making it to her comp... ;)

Gonna be a great experience and I will be there to help out with anything she need... and to take tons of pictures of course.

Here's my daily food log, h20 is 1 gal. Alternate between T-rex and Leverex on an empty stomach. Cheat day is Sat. also Glucerell w/carb meals.

Are you able to take T-rex on an empty stomach?

I'd puke :worried:

I tried and felt like crap, I have to have 1/2 banana or toast. I've been taking Leverex on an empty stomach for a.m. cardio and have no problems.

OK phew, just checkin. I tried empty stomach a few times & never encountered such a literal gut-wrenching feeling doing that. Never again.

OK so i'm looking at your spreadsheet -- Am I reading correctly that your 7 am meal is coffee & hot chocolate?? I"m confused on that. I'd toss the hot chocolate completely and move meal 2 up. Unless I"m reading it wrong. I'd also move the sweet potatoe up to your 1 pm meal. And if your total is only 1200 cals, you need more food in general. I'm not sure what's up with that first meal, but I'd replace it w/ real food.

Sassy, that was today, I slept in, woke up and had the hot choc. in my coffee before my cardio. So, I should have said my first meal of the day is meal 2, sorry. I'm having a hard time getting my cals. up. I have 2 kids and am, on the go alot. I need to prepare more and take food w/me.

No carbs after noon is a problem is weights are after lunch
I do cardio at 5:30 a.m. and weights at 10:00 a.m. I could try and train after the kids are down w/school at 3:00.........

no..thats fine...I just feel you need PWO carbs and then at a minimum of soem veggies at every meal till bed

That info helps.

As far as changing your training time -- the diet can be adjusted to fit the training -- the whole point is that the schedule is easily doable. I might wait until I see a "normal" day's schedule before commenting more. You might consider putting more real protein with your breakfast meal w/ the oatmeal -- eggs or something instead of the protein mix. I'd also consider putting more protein in the night meal w/ just the egg white. I still think your cals are coming up short if you want to do a little mass building while you are doing this.
