Is Titan a mut that you rescued or is he a recognized breed? I can't remember but I thought you had a another boxer also. If that's the case, I can't believe they wanna make you neuter an recognized breed.

The rescues are basically forcing people to buy pets from breeders/mills or go out of state. My dog was transported across state lines. If I went your route, I know I would be declined based on my personality alone.

Some rescues are utterly fanatical about puppies. They don't care if the animal is a show champion. A lot of the purebreed rescues are especially like this ...Delinquent said:

I understand their point,there are SOOO many unwanted animals just destroyed every year, and almost half of them are pedigrees who, for whatever reason, ended up in rescues or shelters, but not everyone is an irresponsible dog owner. Just because you have an unneutered animal doesn't mean it's going to go make puppies. Although I have to say, I really don't see any reason to keep a dog whole if you have no intention of showing and eventually breeding. Too much of a PITA, especially if you want to add to the household.
With some of the larger, more aggressive breeds there is a real issue of male dominance aggression, and that could be the rescue's objection as well. It's not pretty when one of your dogs tears the other one up or kills it, and once one dog has kicked the crap out of the other that generally sets the tone of their relationship.
