Got a new gun!!!!

What the ...

How the hell is that even necessary for anything? Well, except maybe for shooting the moon out of the goddamned sky. Christ.

I want one.

Actually, If it has a legal barrel length, that is the best home defense weapon one could own..

In the dark middle of the night when you are half asleep, you just
point and fire after verifying your target, instead of worrying about aiming etc..

I dunno. They're fun.

You ever go shooting? It's awesome. I'll own a gun one of these days.

thanks for your intelligent input to this. I do hope you own a gun, and you manage to shoot yourself in the foot with it.

Find your nearest dictionary and look up the word "sarcasm."

Why does gun ownership have to be questioned every time someone says they got a new gun?
Newsflash: Guns are legal. Leave the guy alone.

When I bought my Remington 870P I thought about adding a front pistol grip too, but finally didnt. Mine has a pistol grip, folding metal stock, surefire tactical light, ghost ring and 14" barrel (it's legal here).

Why do Americans seem obsessed with owning a gun?

Do you really need one?

Need? Better safe than sorry. If I have to protect my family, I would rather know that I have a little backup.

i think darktooth is that last person that needs a gun.. the kid has probably never shot a friggin bb gun let alon a short-barrelled shotgun with an 8 round clip (which is illegal if that's what it is).. what sucks about that is that its a friggin pump action.. wtf.. who the fuck wants to waste the time to pump instead of just spraying off round after round of 0 buck shot at an intruder..

secondly.. where he lives that gun probably is illegal.. and what the fuck would anyone want to break into your damn 350 sq ft apt anyway?

Thats a nice little shotgun there. Personally, I prefer handguns for home defense. If theres a tussle, the gun can be grabbed and wrenched away, but if anubody gets near my piece, they are getting blasted.

Got my cheapo Mossberg 77 pistol grip by my bed. Bandolier of 00 Buck as well.. Glock 17 under the pillow and a 4D Cell Maglite on the night stand.

You keep a gun under your pillow? While you sleep? Is it loaded, and is there a bullet in the pipe? I toss and turn too much for that, mine is right under my bed.

Don't keep the one under the pillow chambered. Figure if i can't stop the intruder with the 6 00 Buckshot then i better surrender.

I've never fired a handgun before, but I've played a ton of Doom and think I could probably handle that thing like a pro. Especially if I was being attacked by those floating red blobs with the faces. They'd be all floating out with my stereo and I'd blast them and tell them to take me to that big ass mechanical spider boss. Fuck his shit up, too. Then I'd take the safety off and really start pounding bitches.

Got one just like it myself ;)

The Remington 870 is a "standard police issue" around here; i.e. it's the same thing the police carry. Excellent lil' peashooter.

How is the quality on that? I had a winchester 1300 defender that was built like cheap shit, thinking of a auto loader Benilli(sp)

spanky11, can you own a gun in Norway? or did your country take that right away from you?

seriously bro, get a folding stock. For room clearing, the no stock design might be helpful but it's not accurate at all and gives a bad recoil.

In the RCMP, we have the option of getting either the fixed stock version or the folding stock version (both 18" barrel) or the MP5SF (carbine). I was among the few guys who actually chose a the folding stock. Most patrol guys take the fixed stock and plain clothes prefer the MP5.

Hell yes you need a gun is some areas in the states, when I was in high school I was shoot at twice and had one pulled on me because I was in 'their neighborhood'..of course it was a big area and I happen to be staying there too lol.

Just in case some Euro-Trash dictator from Oslo decides to move to the US.

See, now when some new ruler decides to over-run your little shit-stain of a country, and the soldiers are raping your family you're gonna wish you had guns like us Americans.

:D I'm glad to see there are a few people with their heads on straight on this board. It's becoming a rare thing lately.

If you ever have to use it I hope your neighbors duck for cover as well. I'll bet that thing would kill the intruder and whoever is next door or in the next room. Have you ever seen the ammo that is specially mad for home defence for this purpose?

not unless he's using slugs, and that would devoid the point of owning a shot gun for home defense.

The buckshot shouldnt go through too many walls unless he lives in a gingerbread house.

000 Buckshot for home defense is essentially 9 .32 caliber balls packed into the shotgun shell.
Traveling at approx. 1500 feet/second at the right distance it will literally saw a person in half at the abdomen.

any shotgun will ruin anyone... depends on the ammo... i have buckshot loaded in mine.

hey oubeta, how short do you think i can get the barrel?? i hope the 24" law doesn't apply anymore :D

i think you guys in the US have a 18" rule or something like that. Otherwise it falls into the class III category. That's probably one point where Canada has better gun laws than you. We can get any barrel lenght for our shotguns and AR-15 and pistol grips, folding stock are not restricted.

Yes we can, but most simply don't see the need - we are not as paranoid as you are.

I own a 1878 Winchester rifle. That bad boy might be an antique, but I was able to get it at a PA auction for $3000 (it was an antique auction at a well-known auction house near Philly). The beauty of it is, I did not have to apply for a gun permit, wait 5 days to get it, or fill out any paper work---even though the rifle is fully-functional. It even came with 140 rounds. Problem is, where the fuck do I buy more rounds for a 1878 Winchester after I go through the 140 rounds? I've already used 80 of them for target practice, and I now am fully competent in it's use (and I'm a great shot). I guess having 60 rounds saved for any possible intruders is enough for me to have.

Packin heat is fine especially when it comes to protecting your family and private property.

Make no mistake, oh Billy Bob in the Kunt-ree aint afraid to use his gun if you are trespassing on his property.

I just spotted an 8 shot H&K over at gunbroker, never even thought to check out there shotguns, love their pistols.

Pumps can be shot nearly as fast as semi-autos and are much more reliable. That's why the police and military still use them after all these years.

I haven't read the thread beyond this post, but that looks like a 7 +1 mag, which is legal.

Yep. Sneaking onto someone's land in the middle of the night to go catfishing up here in the Ozarks can be a rather risky proposition. Not worth it to me.

For home defense a shotgun is the choice. Actual shot in it.

Handguns really don’t work in home defense. In a tense situation you may pull off 5-10 shots and don’t be surprised if the safest place to be is directly in front of you. If you have never been in this situation then don’t even comment on it because I know that you do not know what you are talking about.

If you want to test it then run top speed for a half mile then do pushups until you are about to puke. Pick up a gun and fire 10 shots in 3 seconds. Then tell me where your bullets went on the target. That’s pretty much what your body will be doing when you know someone is in your house and you are stalking them with a handgun. Plus if you come face to face you’ll probably be flinching and running for cover while you are shooting but we will not even address that.

You would need several hundred bullets to cover the square footage that a single “shot” will cover from a shotgun at about 10 feet. As long as you turn your corners properly you should not have to worry about having the shotgun taken from you.
