Good Read (Book Recomendation)

what's the skinny?
I think I've heard of it
you started the thread you google it

I like his books. I read Into Thin Air and loved it. There was another with a few short stories and I really enjoyed it too.

good book and great movie. I actually enjoyed re-reading the book after the movie more than the first time.

Krakauer is an excellent author. Under the Banner of Heaven is my favorite. Into Thin Air is great, but if you liked that be sure to read The Climb by Antonoli Boukreev.

Eiger dreams is a collections of essays, great before bedtime reading.

Its about a kid who growing up and though his highschool years would adhear to his parents wishes, but he was more of a minimalist. He had this desire to shed the social norms and look for true freedom. He discovers that the ultimate freedom is to become one with nature and shed his capatialist. To become almost a tramp or vagabond, move from town to town on a journey living of bare essentials.

He was also into pushing himself physically. Did a lot of running, in the summers he would climb mountains and go on hiking trips.

in college he starts getting into reading Jack London call of the wild and Walden and discovers what he thinks is the ultimate journey to freedom.

So instead of getting a job after he graduated college, he cuts off all ties to his family, give his 20k trust fund to a chairity, burns all his cash, abondons his car and starts his trip, ultimately to head north to alaska and try to live off the land alone in the Wild.

True Story too.

Reading this book has made me make a list of all the places I want to see, and go. Plus makes me want to climb. Which I have never done
