I have a slight headache today. Tomorrow I start going to the gym on a regular basis again. I think I'll start with back or legs......You decide for me!!

Not intending to diss this thread in any way but I miss Samoth's Good Morning !! threads.

Apparently, Roquefort cheese was developed on this date in 1070, presumably in Roquefort.

It's the Queen's birthday in New Zealand.

If you've had a long layoff, go light, don't go crazy with the reps and do full-body.

Not a bad idea...Full body, compound movements. You're on to something here. Maybe I'll do that three, four times a week and start individual body parts after my body is accustomed to working out again :Chef: :tuc:

That's what I always do and it works well. How long you need to take ramping back up depends on the length of the layoff. If you hit the weights hard too soon it just hurts more and, I've found, doesn't get you back into the swing any faster. It can be hard holding back though.

I haven't lifted for 6 months...but I've been very active. The ARMY has kept me busy..lol. Maybe Deads, shoulder presses, bench presses, squats, lunges and some kind of row. What do you think? :Chef: :tuc:

That's a great selection with some abs work thrown in although I've not done lunges in a long while. For my book, deads, rows, squats, bench and overhead pressing covers pretty much everything.

I don't want to turn this into another 5x5 thread but I've found the Intermediate program on this site great for getting back into lifting after a layoff. Lots of good info there too. I usually know it's time to get real again when I start to get bored with it.

A lot will depend on how much conditioning for lifting you've kept from your army work.

I've got some weights on order for home and I'm planning to start trying to work some of the Olympic lifts. They look like fun and great for conditioning.
