grey karma isnt negative karma, dont worry about it, all it means is that he doesnt have enough posts in his post count (over 100) to make a difference on your karma points either way

The reason you karma is grey (neutral) is because you don't have more than 100 posts. once you reach 100 you can give good or bad out.
