Good Ideas for new employee "buddy" email?

I have been designated the "buddy" for a new employee and want to write a welcome email so its in his inbox when he gets here. Any sugestions or templates that anyone has would be great! We're a consulting firm FYI.

Feel free to mix in a real idea every few replies.
