Golden Globe Awards...

Because the writers script everything.

I didn't know the writers wrote everything for "reality" shows too.

FUCK TV and screw the writers. They make more money than most of Americans. They need to suck it up. considering how many bad shows are on they need to fire half of them.

The Writer's Guild doesn't represent TV scripters exclusively. And it could be argued that of all the *mainplayers* in the creation of cinema, the writers are the least compensated. Other pertinent unions are respecting the WGA's picket lines. Without writers, you have no story to tell, you need no players....unless you're an auteur, like me :D

the SAG said they wouldn't attend...no show without actors and actresses there to accept and present awards.

What pisses me off about the strike is that tens of thousands of below the line crew (lighting, gaffers, PAs, etc) are all out of work. These guys barely scrape by as it is. The WGA really didnt think this through. I can pretty much assure you that the deal the DGA signs off on (which was offered, then denied, by the WGA 2 months ago) will end up being accepted.

welcome to the problem with unions. be it teamsters, long shoremen, wga, sag, etc. you name it. keep forcing corporate america to eventually outsource everything. do office workers and it fokls have unions?

writers write the scripts in a industry standard format. using fancy computer software. that software is then used to create revision scripts, shot scripts, production schedules, dailies, etc. etc. It's pretty complex the whole process. It's not as simple as typing shit up in word and then hitting the print button.

I wish it was that easy.

I'm a visual artist but I've just finished my first feature script and received some good feedback. I hope to someday do something in the industry, currently I'm just a cleaner and buffer.........no, not fluffer, I said I don't work in the industry:D

It's far from a masterpiece, so I'm not assuming anyone would appropriate it, but I'd like to register it first, then I'd be happy to post a synopsis. :)

Yes, definately do that.

Don't tell anyone. I heard a lot of people get ripped off.

I had to sign a 50??? page confidentionallity agreement. But, they said in reality it is worthless. Because, it is hard to prove and nothing is exactly the same.

Yep.

I have heard that even with registration and copywrite it's hard to win a plagerism case. I guess that's the nature of tapping into the archtypal-lol.

50 Pages???!!! OMG Did they ask for a stool sample as well? Seriously, do you mind me asking what happened, did you get a deal, do you have an agent?

Are you by chance *meat* over at Kevin Smith's site? LOL
