Going to Barcelona & Ibiza

Hey. i'm planning on going to Spain in August. My boyfriend and I are going to fly into Barcelona and want to stay there for a day or 2 then head over to Ibiza. We found a place we want to stay at in Ibiza, but I'm having trouble finiding something in Barcelona. Has anyone been? I'm looking to stay somewhere right in the middle of everything. If anyone could help that would be great! Thanks
