OK im 26 M 172 lbs, 5.11, 15.5% BF (according to my tanita) and 31" waist . Last year at this time I was near 260lbs pure lard nothing but fat so I went on a huge calorie cutting diet with intense cardio. Well to my suprise by the time I dropped down to a normal weight I had no muscle and or definition, more or less I was boney in some areas and fat in others (waist and chest is where I still carry it). About 4 months ago I started weight training at first mild lifting now more intese, and ive seen major gains in all areas but about two weeks ago I changed my diet to 7 small meals a day 4 of them are protein bars or shakes I total out at 1700 calories a day with about 90 g of carbs 230 to 260 g of protien and 30 to 40g of fat a day. I also added Creatine 13 grams a day to the mix and flax seed oil as well. Ive been taking the flax seed oil at night after my workout and before bed I take 2 tbsp (260 cal.). I feel that this diet might get me fat because I always feel full and bloated and im always going to the bathroom. My goal is to not so much drop more pounds but more so to trim and tone. Should I stick with this diet, what kind of workout should I be doing Ive began to mix cardio back into it, is this a good idea or will I lose muscle as well?

creatine is not good when cutting fat because you'll retain water, do not rely on bars and shakes for protein-eat real food instead and once a day a protein bar. Have no shakes-they are not necessary. Get protein up to 325 a day.

diamond i do not understand y u keep saying do not consume protein shakes???????? they are a lot better than bars in my opinion, i eat both a bar is good for convenience, but shakes are a lotbetter in my opinion especially when cutting due to less carbs and the glycerol that is in bars.

SHAKES ARE FOR EMERGENCIES WHEN YOU CAN'T EAT FOOD

This is my diet
meal 1 5 egg whites one reg egg 1/3 cup oat meal
meal 2 protein bar
meal 3 9 oz tuna with lemmon juice
meal 4 protein shake
meal 5 protein shake
meal 6 1/4 cup brown rice with (soy burger or soy what ever)
meal 7 after workout 1/2 banna protein shake 2 tbsp soy milk
meal 8 3 oz tuna with lemon juice and 2 tbsp flax

would you cut out soy completely

what should my workouts be like? I lift in sets of 4, 10 to 12 reps or to fatuige.

I agree with 110%. I"m aiming for around 300g of protein right now, and without the protein shakes, that would be damn impossible, not to mention expessive to get my protein from meat alone.
