Going platnum puts you at greater risk

Machiavellian Muscle

Plat Hero
Platinum
Just curious because I thought of going platnum but why would you want to have a cc on file with this board. Seems like a good way for them to know who we are?

If you aren't already platinum, don't buy it...I haven't seen any benefits and the whole email situation scared me...it's not worth a shit...

If you are seriously concerned about protecting your privacy (and freedom) why in God's name are you relying on third party email/encryption. There are many fairly easy steps you can take to make the man's job of tracking you much more difficult.

First. Hide your ip address, or even better yet post from somewhere public like a library or university. If you do like posting from your home use a proxy, specifically one which utilizes encrytpion such as ssl tunneling. This is because if your are under surveilance, the feds will most likely setup a box at your isp which basically records all the traffic then analyzes it for specific content. Regardless of what they say publicly, they can see EVERYTHING that eminates from your ip address. So a ssl proxy will make their lives much more miserable. For info on where these can be obtained, pm or email me.

Second, and most important. Like i said if you are enagaging in activities which put your freedom at risk, encryption is a must. This being said why the hell do you let someone else implement your encryption for you. There is a very good FREE program which you can use to encrpyt your email so that even the NSA can't read (probably that is). It is called GnuPG, it is like a clone of PGP only its open source and free. This simply means that the source code is freely availabe and has been thourougly checked for any bugs or trojans. An ideal secure email account would be with a outfit that supplies POP over SSL. This means that when you connect to the server to get your mail, you do so over a secure encrypted tunnel like when using a credit card. When you encrypt your mail yourself you can rest assure that ONLY YOU have the private key so if any asswipe does crack the server/account there is no way they can read your shit (unless they are the NSA :) )

Hope this helps
