lately its been all the time, I have acid reflux I think, 90% of the time after I eat anything I feel like hell with this shit. bah this sucks, anyone have it and what do you do for it?

Zantac works but gotta take it every day, I mean can't this shit just be cured?

no cure per se, however eating raw or very lightly steamed green vegetables is a fantastic, and completely natural way, to neutralize excessive stomach acid.

I get that horrible burning throat thing pretty much everyday from eating too many complex carbs. I eat a small bowl of lightly steamed broccoli and it's like spraying a fire extinquisher down my throat.....complete relief within 10 minutes everytime.

hey? of course theres a cure

you can either neutralise acid in the stomach with an antacid (so that it doesnt burn if it comes up your oesophagus) or you can stop as much acid being produced in the first place

there are 4 classes of drugs taht can do the above- the antacids, which are to be used to manage an episode (once youre already suffering) and the other 3 (no need for details) basically reduce the amount of acid in your stomach, and so act as a preventative. zantac (ranitidine) is in such a class

go chat to your doctor or pharmacist. its quite treatable. dont put it off, you can set off cancer of the oesophagus believe it or not

cheers

that's right it was!! I maneuvered to strike at your most sensitive spot.

learn what it means to be Willow's enemy before you learn what it means to be her friend.

hope you've learned your place. be seen and not heard. when I want your input I'll kick it out of you. my dinner better be on the table by 7pm.

I have GERD and they told me to take prilosec (sp) everyday. I did for awhile and it was expensive. I just live on Tums right now. I'm with Rotten..to many simple carbs kill me...

I dunno what your diet is like but when I cleaned up my diet it went away on its own now whenever I start slipping real bad like eating pizza and fast food it comes back but then I just eat a rolaids.

lol that wasnt bad! ;)

i mean, i did get the impression of johnny depps character in that movie Pirates of the Carribean tapping it out on your keyboard, what with all the lilting delusion and all, but still, amusing :)

GymGurl you cant tell me that something like ranitidine is an expensive medication...what exactly is in the stuff you were prescribed?

Heartburn....I have the answer and it works. Simple really.

If you have acid in your stomach then you need to bring down your PH to a neutral level. How do you do this...with an alkaline. What is the best, simplest alkaline that'll cost you about $2....Baking Soda. Put one big table spoon of baking soda into a glass and mix with water. Drink it and within 5 minutes you'll feel as fresh as a breeze. I promise. Works for me 11/10 (!!) since I was a child.

Get it checked by a doctor. If its due to a duodenal hernia, you may need surgery. Check your diet, your lifestyle and follow the doctors orders: be sure to ask how to prevent it rather than just treat the symptoms.

yeah but then what happens to your total body sodium?

just get an antacid, they contain a couple of alkaline salts taht do the same thing without the sides
