whatis the difference between glycemic index and load? how do theyaffect us when we eat foods and what should i look for when lookingat this. nobody ever talks about that stuff on here.

Maybe no one cares lol.

GI is the speed at which, in simple terms, the body releases the energy from the food. So you'll feel a rush from sugar vs a potatoe.

nobody talks about it because everyone is following IIFYM and that sort of bs type of eating

yes glycemic index and load are huge differences, so much so it can make the difference between dying if you are a diabetic.

example the glycemic index of a bagel vs. watermelon ARE THE SAME
yet the LOAD of the two are drastically different. this is another reason why counting calories is a load of bullshit. the bagel and the watermelon have completely different partitioning effects on the body.

Maybe nobody goes into that detail much but we do mention what types of carbs and foods to eat and which ones to avoid. If you break it down carb choices are determined based on that. Glycemic index and what it does to your insulin levels
