good info...however, much more important is the glycemic LOAD.....just want people to make note of that.............

Yeah. Like fruit juice has a GI of 30... Sounds good on paper, then you find out its all sugar junk.

Info is accurate nontheless.

That was soy milk. Fruit juices are higher than that. One must also consider the fact tha fructose is a poor choice for muscle glycogen replenishment.

Some sugars are good for bodybuilding though. Lactose being on that list. Its very low GI, and replenishes muscle glycogen well.

For peeps who are not lactose intolerant, skim milk (you can get better fats from other sources) is great for both bulking and cutting.

BBF, you sure those are right? They seem off compared to other GI charts I've seen.

The fruit juice one's sure look wrong, but all of the grains, nutts, beans, dairy etc looks right.

I'm thinking perhaps it is refering to real fruit juice, not the crap people drink in the store made from concentrate and sugar, which should have a gi between 90 and 100.

Don't you find that milk bloats you and/or smooths you out? Only asking because I quit milk for that reason, although I love it.

Great thread BTW - VERY VERY useful link, thanks.

Yes milk bloats me a bit, and makes me look about 3-4% higher on my bodyfat than I am, however its temorary, and I use dairy year round. Its very anabolic and research shows that dairy products accelerate fat loss. I come off the dairy 4-5 weeks out from a show.

You're right bro......fruit in general has a low glycemic load and index (save bananas, etc.) so I'm sure this is the GI for fruit juice if you were to use a juicer....very misleading to the general public.......

You're the only guy who advocates drinking milk in large quantites

What are doing Mr X, ~SC~ and other milk bashers ?

Actually I take dairies but yogurts more than regular milk

I know they both bash milk, and honestly I have a great deal of respect for both Mr. X and SwoleCat...I just believe them to be wrong on this issue based on a fair amount of research of seen.

BTW I agree with you on the yogurt. It is your best choice out of the dairy products.
